This is an old illustration I did based on a role-play I did back then with  ThisGuy127. I figured people here might enjoy. ^_^ I figured after a rough time online, I need to calm down and enjoy some of the simple charms I've enjoyed over the years.

--

The once black night sky was slowly disappearing to reveal a red, orange and then yellow set of hues over the horizon in the distance. For many creatures, they were already near their home, so all they had to do was scurry, slither or walk into their place. However, for a certain fruitbat, it would take a while to fly back. Jess, the bat, cursed inwardly for having flown out this far in the first place, but she had been craving to get an orange from the grove. Well, she knew she had to pay the price by being late to get back home, but it was worth trying out that sweet yet rare fruit for her. She at least had put one orange about the size of her body in her feet claws, but she wondered if she'd be able to carry it the whole way.

Another problem, although, were her wings. Jess had been using them the whole night it seemed. With a groan, she glanced down into the trees below. Maybe stopping a moment wouldn't be too bad. She carefully flew down in there, yet, in bat fashion, sloppily landed on the forest floor. Breathing heavily, she sat beside the base of a tree and then sighed as her big brown eyes shut a moment. The bat just hoped that no creature would try to bother her as she took a break a moment.

---
Meanwhile, a black furred fox had been settling in after another long night of wandering about. He was a bit too large to be scurrying, and walking seemed a bit too bland for him as he nosed this way and that, constantly traveling in no particular direction each night. As much as he was pleased with this carefree agenda, even he had to find something to eat every night; Being an omnivore made the selection easy, but his choice of method and being outright picky about things like fruit usually ended with him swallowing whatever berry or fruit he found.

Tonight, he got his scavenging done early, giving him the whole night to cover a good amount of ground, this long in though, the early night snack had caught up with him, leaving him a bit peckish with all of his hopping about. Being left with the choice, he just ate what he could find and turned in on an averagely high tree branch, finding less things to wake him up when he was above the commotion. He hadn't managed to fall asleep yet, as his stomach seemed disapproved with his findings, whining like a spoiled youngling who wanted just a little bit more. His attempts to ignore it were interrupted when a small rustling shot past just in front of him, an eye opening up just to watch something come to a ten point landing at the base of a neighboring tree. He then spotted something bright, and orange sticking out against the mellow hues along the ground, and it seemed he had found that last little bit of breakfast before bed.

---
With her heavy breathing calming down, she became more quiet and then lifted up the orange with a frown. Jess knew she wouldn't be able to carry it that far. It was most likely wise to just eat some of it and then continue on her journey home. With a sigh, she stabbed her finger into the peel and started carving away. The sweet scent lingered in the air and at the moment, she was focused on scooping out some of the fruit within.

---
The re-awakening fox had turned his attention to the forest floor at this point, head resting over his paws as he made out something moving about. He wasn't quite awake enough to make an effort of it, but he knew a little critter of some sort was down there. After a moment, the vulpine had lifted himself off his forelegs, making a small rustle in the branch as before he just dropped down, landing with a bit more grace than his new acquaintance had, his eyes locked down to the partially wing hidden orange, waiting patiently now to see what the little one would do after he disturbed it's meal.

---
She had nommed away at the pieces of orange inside, yet stopped a moment when she heard a rustle from above and behind her. The ears went skyward and her eyes were wide as she remained stiff. Although, things were quiet afterwards, she knew better than to trust that whatever caused the noise was gone. Immediately, she let go of the rest of the orange and then flicked her wings out to get them ready for flying as she glanced to see who was the one to bother her.

---
He immediately recognized the open shape of the little bat in front of him, not giving it much thought on why the little one was resting on the ground. Keeping to his original motive at first, a paw raised forward toward the opened fruit his stomach seemed to be craving at the moment. His movement stopped there though, as his mind opened up to the thought of the little creature. It was about the same size, and living snacks always made for a wonderful treat before going to sleep, even though he usually had to make up for it after letting them go soon after.

After making up his mind, his paw came back to the ground. The fox's body lowering down like spring pressing in, building up for some grand leap to catch the little bat before she made a skyward escape, but he wasn't about to make a pointless lunge in the dark, especially with the reality of the log just opposite of the little one. So, he went to his preferred approach, his dropping motion turning to a typical candid flop, as he laid behind the bat, biding his time and watching it's reaction.

---
With a high-pitch squeak, Jess flapped her wings once in order to turn completely around and backed up, even if slightly, from the fox. The dark colors of the creature was alarming and, honestly, was scary to her. She uneasily glanced over his muzzle and into his eyes as she took wary steps away. Offering a quick smile, she gestured to the orange as if offering that and hoped that the fox would occupy himself with that while she'd just fly away.

---
The fox grinned a bit, raising a paw to gesture toward the fruit, breaking the silence at the same time as he spoke. "Isn't that your orange? figure if you were going to crash into the ground with it, you probably want to finish eating it." He said, speaking in a relaxed tone as only his ears and tail occasionally twitched. He refused to smile in return, having the worst luck of scaring people off once his unusual fangs were presented, but that must have only been the tide turner to the rest of his mug, especially the deeply scarred left eye of his, that gleamed a mellow violet in contrast to the red of his right.

---
She glanced from him to the orange warily. Wanting the rest of the orange, she knew better though than to eat it with someone else around that might be hungry for her after she finished eating. In fact, she'd never encountered a fox before, since she'd normally never be low enough to the ground to interact with it. However, Jess figured that just the sight of him was good enough for her. She took a few steps back before beating her wings a bit in order to hover there, which was a starting to hurt her wings more as she quietly replied, "Um...it's alright. You can have the rest if you'd like, mister...fox."

---
He watched for a moment, slowly raising to his feet, eyes focused down as he did, so he didn't appear to be focused on her hovering while he continued to speak, hoping conversation would serve it's purpose; especially since he had quite a bit of questioning to do. "Well, thank you then, but isn't it a bit late and odd for a little bat to be hauling a fruit like this anywhere? Figure you'd be well into your rest by now, not out here." He lowered his nose to the orange for a minute, getting a good smell of the sweet insides, and what he could of it's previous owner. "Must have been a pain to haul this around for someone your size."

---
Inwardly, she wished that he weren't so conversational. It made her feel guilty if she were to fly away after just speaking to her like that. Also, staying in one spot in flight was difficult, so she got back down on the ground and then curled her wings in front of her. "W-well, I was wanting to bring it back to my roost so that I wouldn't have to fly so far tomorrow night for fruit." Her ears pinned back as she eyed the orange in longing. "But it's too big to carry after all. I suppose I oughta just head on home and leave it with you then, mister." The bat offered as friendly of a smile, hoping that he'd continue in being friendly too and not pull any tricks on her.

---
He grinned subtly to himself, the expression hidden in his black furred face as his approach gave him the upper hand, a single paw leaning forward to give the open fruit a gentle scoot, offering it back to her as he sat back on his haunches, trying not to sit up too high so she didn't get intimidated by how much she had to look up, and by leaning forward he gave himself an extra nudge forward, each movement leaving him a good few inches closer, practically within range to swipe her from the air if necessary, and with the log behind her, he had almost had her cornered. Still, he wasn't about to blow his cover. "Well, one good thing about having a fox nearby. A lot of larger birds and other things don't bother us much, so you can finish this off before you head on your way."

He only took a moment to pause, turning his head up toward the forest canopy as he tsked to himself, turning back downward slowly with a genuinely concerned tone in his voice. "That, and do you really think you can make it back? it's a bit windy even down here, it's probably chilly above the treeline, and you don't look like one to be good at flying cold."

---
She tilted her head at how he was so concerned for her, but assumed that he was just nice like that. "True, I'm not good at flying in the cold, but I'd hate to stay away from home. If I have to fly under the forest's ceiling, then I will," she said with forced optimism.

The bat went for the orange and was about to scoop some out before she felt something off. This was a stranger she was getting home-like around. Was it wise to eat the fruit, she wondered. With a bit more conviction compared to last time, she said with her wings spreading out to fly, "Um...I think I need to go home now. Have a good day."

---
The fox shook his head a bit, lifting himself a bit as he raised a paw over the bat, way over, until it gave a few nudges in the air. "That's certainly not a good idea for a bat, Owls hunt under the canopy, and this is coming into the time that they're practically everywhere."

He spoke in a matter of factual tone, keeping to mild scare tactics to keep the little one where she was. All this effort was making his stomach tired of waiting, even if it was for a little extra weight, and as it was, he was half awake, but now he figured it'd be the best time to change the subject. "You know, I usually sleep in trees, above all the noise and nonsense in the day. Given the circumstances, you can always just rest with me for the day, save the risk, then you can fly home in the evening before the nocturnal predators start hunting."

---
It wasn't what she wanted to hear, but she knew he was right. Owls were tough to get away from and they could hurt a bat very badly if they so pleased. Jess' ears flattened down and back as she started to say, "I guess it wouldn't hurt, then, to stay wi-."

However, her ears suddenly went up as she glanced at him skeptically. "Rest with you? How would I be resting with you, if you don't mind me asking?" She took a few more steps back from him. The fact that he was a fox and this close to her gave her plenty of reason to be nervous. She took a few more steps back until her back touched the log.

---
It was that moment he had been waiting for, seeing the cute little bat catch on to how close he had approached, every step she took back was met with a step forward of his own as he spoke. "Well, honestly, you might not agree with your accommodations at first, but you will have time to complain about that later into the evening." He said smugly, letting the orange slide ahead with one of his paws until it slid right up in front of her, his head practically looming just above the small bat now. She was cornered, and he was sure that she'd figured that out too.

"I'd say we're both pretty lucky here though, you don't have to risk a dangerous flight, and you can finish your orange, maybe a few other fruit if you get peckish. While I get to sate my hunger for the night" He continued, still seeming rather calm besides the confident grin across his muzzle. "So, can I trust you to keep your composure? or do you want to risk hurting yourself by trying to get away?"

---
At first, she could only stare at him as he spoke. Her wings drew in tight to her form as if they could possibly shield herself from this threat. The bat eventually spoke after that last question, stammering out with a weak smile, "I...I think I'd rather face the cold and y-you can just have that fruit as food."

Awkwardly yet suddenly, she ran beneath his underbelly and then out through his legs. She breathed heavily with fear this time as her wings went to spread out with much flinching from the pain of them not resting long enough.

---
The fox was caught in surprise, damning himself under his breath as he lurched his body around, flinging his tail down in the process as it brushed into the little bat, the mass of fur catching into her opening wingspan before she could leave the ground. Compared to the large feather duster, the little bat would not have been able to keep her footing, bouncing onto her back just as the fox had made his final turn, quickly moving his paw over the little one's torso, pressing just enough t be sure that she wouldn't be getting up yet.

His mouth was left partially gaped, his top jaw glimmering in the faint light much like his eyes had, a set of fangs had shown through that quite a bit larger than a canine's would normally be, but the teeth behind each one were another literal set of fangs, slightly shorter in comparison, but they too were larger than would be the case. Even with the unpleasant view the bat got to see, the fox was not snarling, and his composure remained calm as he stared down at her.

---
Letting out a gasp at both the whack of the tail and the pinning paw, she at first was in a bit of an adrenaline daze as she wanted to keep on running, but the sudden movements were leaving her confused. That was until the bat saw those teeth. Her brown eyes got wide, but then shut them as she prepared for something bad to happen. Honestly, she expected growls or whatever sound a fox made, but when none came, she opened one eye and kept it on that freakish maw of his. She tried to calm down the quiver in her tone as she tried to shove his paw from her, "Um...I-I'm sorry but can you just find a rabbit or squirrel to keep you company instead? They're bigger and..." Jess searched for the word before offering with a smile, "...fluffier."

---
He suddenly let out a pretty sharp snarl, gently pressing a bit harder against the little bat. It always struck a nerve when prey he caught offered up others, like their lives were any less valuable to the mostly harmless predator. He calmed down fairly quick though, closing his jaws before letting out a small sigh. "Who are you to be offering anyone else to take your place? You don't even know what's going to happen to you."

---
The bat shut her eyes at the snarl and shivered a bit. However, his words did strike a cord in her heart and her ears pinned back from such. "I'm sorry. I don't want others to get hurt, but I don't want to get hurt as well. That was mean of me to say and honestly..." She admitted in a rush of words, "It was simply to get you to leave me alone. I wasn't going to point you to someone. I promise. So please get off. Please?"

---
The fox shook his head slowly, letting that extra bit of pressure go. "I'm sorry to say, but you're not going anywhere. I'm not going at this point." He said frankly, giving his lips a quick run over with his tongue. They were a bit dry after the quick recapture, but it probably wasn't that obvious. "That, and I've already said I wasn't planning to hurt you. If I were really out to do so, why haven't I?"

---
She opened her eyes at him easing the pressure, but wanted to close them back up at the quick lick. She hoped that wasn't his way of taunting, but him actually doing what most canines did...or as in what she heard they did. They usually had their tongues out...or was that just dogs? She shook her mind to focus on what he just said before answering, "Well...you could be lying and you could be waiting until the right moment to do anything..." The bat's gaze narrowed as she muttered, "Like when you put me in a tight spot just to make sure I had no choice but to stay." She lightened her tone as she tried to scoot out from under his paw. "But IF you're not going to hurt me, then what do you want? I've got nothing except the orange and you can have it."

---
He wasn't one to lie, manipulate maybe, but he was an honest fox. Even if the little bat was skeptical to the fact, he knew she was only scared, and expected no less of any creature that wanted to keep living after everything that's happened so far. He parted his jaws again, this time making those dangerous daggers very obvious, even lowering his head down a bit before he spoke normally.

"I don't think I'd need a better time if I were going to, but this talk is going to end here until we're both settled in for the night. You can either take my word from this point, or you can struggle. Once you're between my jaws though, I'd suggest keeping your wings tucked, unless you want to risk piercing them on my canines. Understand?"

---
She wanted to talk some more and try to reason, but she had a feeling it wouldn't do her any good. Besides, it wasn't like she could do anything if he were lying. Taking in a deep breath, she sighed shakily, "O-okay. I understand." It felt painful to just say that, but her pride was already hurt by being put in this situation in the first place. Her wings wrapped entirely in front of her face and tucked close to her body. She remained as still as possible despite the chill from the breeze and the chill of fear of this going really bad for her.

---
He gave a soft nod, moving his paw down a little more along the little one's body, keeping her in place, but allowing him to have more leverage. He could see her scared shivering, either that, or it was the cold breeze picking up from the morning air. He lowered his snout down slowly, letting the tip of his nose press where her coiled wings hid her torso, a warm exhale washing over the little one's body in contrast to the air around them. "It will be warmer for you after we start, and if you want to make the best of it, you might want to untuck your wings a bit so you warm up faster."

After that, he used his other paw to prop her back up off the ground a bit with his toes, his muzzle practically blocking her view of the canopy above, glowing it's warming shades of autumn red and orange, bring a bit more contrast the the unusual fox's eyes. It'd probably be a spectacle to witness, if it weren't terrifying for the little one. He was taking a little extra time so she didn't go into some last minute panic attack, because he didn't want to see her hurt on his fangs anymore than she did. That, and he was hoping the warmth of his breath may even seem somewhat inviting.

---
The bat became stiff at the warm breath. She was a bit shocked he was actually taking his time with this, yet was relieved. In fact, she always imagined a creature tearing her apart, but not...One eye opened as she tried to imagine what exactly he WAS going to do to her. Jess simply nodded as she stood up the rest of the way with her wings slightly opened to reveal her short snout. Her eyes went back to tapering at the light, but was glad that his looming form was blocking out that awful bright light. "Thanks...for helping my sight." She made sure to specify why she was thankful.

---
He paused at her thankful comment, drawing a pretty silly blank until he noticed the shadow his head made over her form, nodding gently as he thought of how tired he must have been to miss that. "Of course, hopefully this will do more for you than just keeping you from the light." He said sincerely, wasting no more time as he lifted his head a bit, opening his jaws slowly just above her for only a moment.

His open maw lowered down around the bat, his tongue coming into direct contact with her face, dragging down against her front so as to make sure his upper jaw was well away from her. She was just large enough to be a mouthful for the vulpine's thin snout, which made keeping her steady relatively easy, but he still had one paw at her feet, and one supporting him next to his head. The last thing either of them needed was for her fear to get the better of her again.

---
Her eyes shut back as soon as the maw opened. She didn't want to see any of this or risk her eyes get saliva in them after all. Her body remained stiff at the licking and she made a slight whine as the warmth was surrounding her even more so. She so didn't want to get inside of him, but it was at least nice to be out of the chilly air. It was mixed feelings definitely, but she knew better than to move or else deal with those vicious teeth behind her.

---
The fox couldn't help a slightly delighted murr, relishing at the first tastes of a living creature. It was something he'd loved, but rarely indulged himself on. He tried to keep it quiet though, so not to startle the little bat anymore. As soon as his tongue had run down along the front of her form, he gave it a small flick upward, tilting his snout as the little bat was forced to lay against the sopping muscle, it's surface rather plush for as thin as it was, pleasantly so if she cared to find the positive side of her conditions. The top of his jaw occasionally dripped down more of the warm saliva against her back, while her front was drenched in it. Making the colder air colder as the occasional breeze passed by, but that wasn't going to last.

---
Her ears went up a bit at that murring sound in confusion, but the confusion went away to alarm at being lifted up and horizontal into the mouth. Her face planted forward and she let out a grumble in a bit of anger at having so much drool on her front. Her ears twitched at the saliva that dripped on her back, causing it to have a ticklish sensation on the roof of his maw. She shivered a bit and instinctively pulled herself into a tighter ball with her wings wrapping nearly around her entire form as the breeze passed by again. The bat was about to say something to the fox, but figured not to. She'd either talk fearfully or angrily after all.

---
He worked his lower jaw a bit after the tickling against his palette almost made him jerk around to get her to stop. After keeping himself steady, he lifted his head up a good ways, the cold air dragging past her body until he was sitting up. His head had tilted back a bit now, causing her to slowly slide down the slippery surface, toward the dark chasm just behind it.

---
Her ears pinned down flat, while her head slightly lifted when everything shifted. It didn't take much to know what was going on and, on instinct, her feet tried to claw into the tongue to keep a secure grasp in order to not slide in that throat of his. However, with the slick surface beneath her, it was hard to grab anything, so she just sneered as she curled back into herself again. The fox was taking so long to swallow her and she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Either way it would make her upset with the location.

---
He had noticed too, taking his time in his growing tiredness. Now she was where he needed her to be, tilting his head back much higher now, leaving the little bat to get a little snug in the back of his throat. His saliva pooled into his gullet in front of her, helping to see to it that the trip would be smooth on the way down.

Before she could even acknowledge much more than that, his throat contracted in front of her, leaving her in a moment of free falling before she was caught in place. The fox closed his maw behind her feet, closing out the last bit of cold air she'd have to deal with now, the bat dangling in place, having to wait for the next swallow to send her any farther.

---
Her brows furrowed at that nasty liquid being right in front of her and had kept her eyes shut. She planned on remaining as still as possible throughout this...but that sudden fall inside made her spazz out a bit. The bat tried to uncurl her wings, but it was impossible to move them that much except for a fidget now that she was halfway in his throat. Her eyes went wide in the darkness and her slightly sharp thumbs tried to nick at the slick tube around her. She yelped as her feet kicked around inside of the fox's mouth. She wheezed out, since the space was so tight in there currently; "No! No! I don't think I can go through with this!"

---
He was too focused to react to her pleas at this point, knowing too well she'd start struggling once things sped up. As a matter of fact, he hoped she would, the struggling in his gullet always being a moment of pleasure for the odd fox. He wasn't about to toy with her though, lifting his head just a bit higher as he took one major swallow, squeezing her in place before she was dragged down, occasional gulps keeping her on her journey.

---
It was useless to try to brace for anything, yet she still wanted to hook her claw-like thumbs into the throat to stop from being swallowed. However, this bigger creature proved how much she really wasn't able to even resist him even a tiny bit. With one more yelp, she could feel the strong muscles push her down...or what she perceived as down. The bat folded her wings back at those noisy swallows and her stomach felt nauseous as she felt a tight area open up and then get pushed into a roomier area.

Her wings slightly moved away from her form as she breathed heavily and glanced around. It was very warm in there and hardly had any light slip through the layers of flesh and fur, but the fact that she was in a place meant for food was making her heart beat faster and faster in a panic. Eventually, Jess shoved her wings out as best as possible, shouting, "You said you weren't going to hurt me and you do THIS?! I wish I were a vampire bat so that I could bite you and make you bleed to death, you jerk of a fox!"

---
He just stayed as he was, replaying the feeling in his head a few times until it was interrupted by a nostalgic feeling of panic in his gut. Inside his stomach were a few fruit and berries scattered about, including a few oranges, whole and untouched, showing his habit of refusing to chew.

He refused to respond yet though, climbing to his feet as his innards shifted about, causing her to flop awkwardly while he turned about, finding the opened orange resting on the ground. In a much simpler fashion, he scooped it up in his maw, working with the awkward rip in it's surface as best he could before he swallowed it down without a second guess, causing it to come to a fumbled landing with his new occupant.

---
"Oof~" She flopped on her face and into the berries with an ear tilted up. That was weird. She thought it would be out of the belly already or looked different from being inside here, but it looked normal. It made the bat wonder if there was something different about his stomach compared to her's...until she felt her old dinner, or breakfast in the fox's terms, plop on her head. She frowned a moment as she grabbed it and glanced inside of it. It made her feel slightly sick at still being a bit hungry even though she was inside of his stomach. She hugged it close as she asked loudly, hoping he'd be able to hear her, "How can you still be hungry with all of this food in here? ...And what are you doing out there?"

---
"I didn't really say I was hungry, honestly, just a little peckish. My stomach is just weird like that." He explained, taking a moment to speak as he wandered back to the tree he decided to rest on, giving his little carry along some time to adjust and ask her questions before he gave her any more motion sickness.

---
The bat rubbed a thumb to her messy hair as she wondered what all did happen inside a fox actually. Were these creatures that different to bats and how their bodies processed food? Was he just an odd fox? It made her want to ask questions. "So...what happens now," was the main question she asked since the answer would probably tell her if she should be scared, calm or what.

---
"Well, I'm going to go to sleep. You can finish your orange, or anything else in there you happen to have a taste for. You're probably going to fall asleep on your own one way or another, and later I'll let you out once I wake back up... Erm... Undigested obviously." He said, slowing down mid sentence to stretch himself out. Now with that little peckish-ness squared away, his body was all ready to get it's rest.

"Speaking of that, brace yourself, making a pretty big jump." He warned, leaning to prepare before he hopped up along the base of the tree, sending her backward against the pile a second time. Then, just to prove that physics still works, she flopped forward yet again after he landed on his prior resting branch.

---
Her eyes went wide with happiness and she smiled at hearing him say that. However, the sudden movement made her yelp as she was tossed back and then down. Jess hated physics really much so right then. She sat up and then wiped at her face as she said more lightly than before, "Okay then. I guess...I wish for you to sleep well. Just don't forget that I'm in here please?"

---
"Of course not, if I were going to do that, I'd have had no reason to swallow you in the first place." He replied, sighing happily as he finally returned to his resting perch, laying on his belly slowly so she wasn't tossed around another time, only shifting things about slightly. "Also, you probably won't meet another fox with voluntary digestion, which would explain why everything in there is still fresh and untouched, and why you're perfectly safe."

---
The area did feel a little bit smaller with him lying on his waist, but it wasn't a bad tightness. She hugged her orange close as she said, "Then I'm very lucky indeed. Thank you." She pulled out some of the inside of the fruit held in her wing as she figured it wouldn't make her TOO sick to eat some of it after all. "Sleep well, um...what is your name?"

---
"For as long as it matters, you can call me Coda." He said, closing his eyes with a small smile over his muzzle. As tired as he was, he was enjoying the conversation now that things had finally set themselves as he intended. "I am sorry for the scare, but thank you for giving me some company. I hope this is better than flying on cold dangerous morning for you."

---
She slurped down some of the sweet orange before answering with honesty, "Well, it is warm and dark in here at least. It's better than having to find a warm place in my roost to sleep when there aren't any other bats around to huddle and keep warm with. So...in that way, this is very nice, Coda." Her eyes drooped as she ate the rest of the orange and then stretched out as she yawned, "And...I think the fatigue of flying so much has caught up to me. Have a good sleep." Her wings curled up and around her as she shuffled into the warm muscle as if it were a pillow.

---
He nodded softly as he started to fall asleep, suddenly opening an eye as he recalled something he missed. "Oh, and what would your name be?"

---
She mumbled out sleepily, "It's Jess" before softly breathing as she slept almost instantly. The amount of fear and movement she exerted that night was exhausting. It was nice to just be somewhere safe to sleep. She only slightly moved in her sleep so he didn't have to worry about her thrashing or anything. Just an occasionally flicker of an ear or wing, but she remained quiet and still otherwise.

---
"That's a fitting name." He mumbled before succumbing to sleep himself, resting comfortably on his perch as the sun rose over the canopy. The black furred fox remaining unbothered as he usually was each day. Most of the ground dwellers not even acknowledging his presence, while birds and tree critters just avoided him, as none of them would even spare a glance to wonder why he was there, or assume he was giving a fruit bat a safe place to sleep within his body.

The day paid him no mind, as he slept with subtle murrs with every flick of an ear or twitch within him. In his sleep, he was in no hurry to wake, enjoying the rare occasion of resting with company, left to wait for the fading warmth of the coming evening.

THE END! >w<
