Stage 2: Digestion starts, the abdominal muscles and organs tense up and pin the prey down. The stomach pools up and contracts rhythmically like a heartbeat in an attempt to break the prey down. Outwardly, the belly becomes hard and tense (think how contractions can appear sometimes in a pregnant woman) and muscles are more toned.
