Dimensional Gathering
 
It was a normal day for several friends. They were relaxing and talking like any other day. "So," Nate turned to Alpheus, eager to get him in on their conversation, "What do you choose?" "I'm not getting involved." "I will," Forrest said aloud, "We should go out to eat..." "What, are you saying that I'm not a good cook?" Nanaki asked sarcastically of Forrest "I didn't say that..." began Forrest.
Just then, the doorbell rang. "I've got it!" Three of them yelled, and charged for the door. Nate was the only one left, and took advantage of his magic, warping there before anyone else even reached it. "No fair!" Nanaki yelled. "Cut it out, it's just the mailman dropping of a letter." Alpheus responded.
Nate opened the mailbox, removed the letter, and read it aloud. "Dear Alpheus the Dragon, Nate the Dragon, Nanaki Murasaki the Charmeleon, and Forrest the Angel: You are all invited to take part in a tournament, being held in another dimension. As soon as you finish reading this sentence, you will be..." Suddenly, the air around them became distorted, and they were all in a giant colloseum. "prisoners," said a voice. "This is a tournament were there is only one winner, and the winner is the one that leaves. The first round of competitions are as follows:"
"You've got to be joking!" Nate roared, angry and ready to fight. "I'm afraid it's all true." Came a voice from behind. The friends turned around to see a young man with a red coat on, hefting a huge sword over his right shoulder. "Name's Auron. I was called here too, and I'll probably be your only friend here. Now listen, he's about to make the announcement of the first round competitors."
In the first round, the fights are as follows. Anyone not participating in the fights will be allowed to watch from the colloseum seats. First, it will be Nate vs. Sephiroth. Second, Auron vs. Vergil, and Third, Nanaki vs. Alpheus. The rest of the competitors have a first round by."
"Well," Nate said, removing his swords from their sheathes, "I'd better get ready..." Suddenly, Sephiroth was standing across from Nate. "Well, well, I'm fighting a dragon. Let's see how easy I can take you down."
Soon everyone was sitting down, wondering what was going to happen. "Round One... Begin!" "Show me your strength." Sephiroth said calmly, and charged lightning-quick at Nate. Suprisingly, Nate blocked his Octoslash, and retaliated by tripping him with his tail. The next second, Nate had a sword to his back. "Don't move, and I promise it'll be over quick." Suddenly, Nate felt a sharp pain in his back. A man, with a large sword and spiked hair, was stabbing him between the wings. "Move, this is my battle."
Just then, both Sephiroth and the man disappeared. "Because of an unforseen interference, Nate will now fight Nanaki Murasaki!" Nanaki's jaw dropped, and Nate solemly lowered his head. "We will soon be short one friend. I hope I can end it quickly." "Now, to get on with it, the next match will be between Vergil and Aur... wait. I'm a genius!" Came the voice, sounding cocky. "Next match will be Nanaki vs. Vergil, followed by Auron vs. Nate! the others have a by for the first round."
Nanaki took his place, and Vergil just laughed. "Round One...Begin!" Nanaki was immediately struck with shot after shot from Vergil's Yamato. Nate and the others looked on, horrified, as Vergil went for the death blow. Just then, Nanaki disappeared. "GO NANAKI!" Nate yelled at the top of his lungs, and Vergil was dead the next second, the force of an impact from Nanaki's imbued claw finishing it without a sound.
"Auron..." Nate said. Nate took his place, and Auron took his. "I'm sorry, Auron, but I can't lose! Not now!" Nate would have no choice, however, as Auron had him with a blade at his neck. "I have my own problems, and my own story, and it won't end here." Was all he said. With those words, the sword was drawn across Nate's neck, and blood ran in spurts from the wound. Nate fell to the ground, motionless. "And the winner of this round is Aur... wait, something's going on!" Nate was getting up, his eyes turning bright red. "It...isn't...over...yet." Suddenly, Nate threw a black ball of matter at Auron with all of his strength, but, he missed by a fraction of an inch.
"Sorry about your luck, Nate, but your life ends here." "Are you sure?!?" Nate yelled, and snapped his fingers, causing a black hole to form behind Auron, who was pulled in. "The match's winner, Nate!" You all have a night of rest, and tommorrow, we will decide the two finalists!"
"We need to think of something, and quick, or one of us will be short three friends, and have the blood of two on their hands." Nate pointed out, using telepathy to avoid the announcer from hearing them. "I have an idea, but it is risky..." Nanaki began. "Well, spit it out!" Alpheus demanded, getting impatient. "The two of us with dimensional powers could 'defeat' the others by banishing them, and then one of us 'defeats' the other in the same manner. When the announcer comes to grant the winner their freedom, the one left summons the others, and we'll have a four-on-one benefit." "That'll work, but only if the two of us aren't paired against each other, Nanaki," Nate reminded him softly, "but it'll be our plan of action for now. Let's get some sleep, and do this thing tomorrow." With that, the four friends went to sleep.
The next day, matches were announced, not suprisingly pitting them against their opposets: "Nate vs. Forrest, and Nanaki vs. Alpheus!" "Hmmm," Nate said, "Fire vs. Ice and Shadow vs. Light. Why am I not suprised?" Nate and Forrest took places opposite of each other, and the fight began. Forrest charged Nate, radiating a brilliant light, and Nate charged as well, exerting a dark aura. The two clashed, and there was a brilliant light. When it was over, Nate was the only one there. "The winner is Nate!" "One down, one to go." Nate said aloud, and took his seat. "Nanaki, you had better give it up. You are too immature to beat me!" Alpheus yelled, and Nanaki charged at him, in a blind rage. Alpheus kept nimbly dodging every strike thrown at him, and pushed him to the ground. "That's enough!" the announcer yelled, and suddenly, a figure appeared in front of the four fighters.
You aren't allowed to make secret plans behind my back! I heard every word you said last night. Now, you will die! Chaos C-" Just then, the figure nimbly dodged a fist thrown at him by Forrest. "So, you wanted a fight? Well, you can have it!" The figure yelled, and charged at the four friends. He ran at super speeds, knocking down every single one of the four friends. Then, he pulled out two guns, and pointed one at Nate's neck and the other at Alpheus's. "You thought you could trick me, but you were wrong. Now, all of you will die!" The mysterious creature yelled, and pulled the triggers on both guns, as simultaneously Forrest and Nanaki yelled, "NO!" Then, before the two fallen dragons, Vergil could be seen spinning his Yamato. "Don't think I'm your friend or anything," Vergil shot at them, "It's just that Shadow and I have a score to settle!" "You still think you can beat me, Vergil? Well then, come on and try it! Chaos Control!" Suddenly, Shadow warped behind Vergil, who was going very slowly, apparently both being a side effect of Shadow the Hedgehog's Chaos Control. Just then, Vergil fell to the ground and dissapeared. "Now, where was I?" Shadow turned back to the four friends, "Oh yeah, I remember-" "Now!" The four friends yelled, and charged at Shadow with tremendous speed. The friends all started using their unique brands of melee attacks.
Forrest, being an Angel, began beating Shadow with his fists, which even by themselves caused considerable damage. Nate pulled out both Shadow Blades, bringing them to the front and swinging hand-over-hand. Alpheus removed his Daedric Sword, covered in ice, and swung with tremendous power over and over. Nanaki came in with his claws, hitting Shadow with shot after shot.
"It...isn't...working," Nate said aloud, between breaths, "He is just too fast. None of us can hit him!" "What if we use our combined magic together, in a sequence?" Nanaki said. "That just might work!"
"Now, you wretches," Shadow told them, believing himself to have the upper hand. "You will be destroyed! Chaos Con-" Nanaki had begun using his Black Magic, preventing Shadow from finishing his sentence, "Do it now!" Nanaki yelled. "Freeze!" Alpheus yelled, and conjured and beam of ice, freezing Shadow solid. "Its our turn now!" Nate and Forrest yelled, and combined their powers into a super concentrated ray, that desintegrated Shadow on the spot. Just as Nate was about to ask how they were supposed to get home, a portal to Nate's house opened in front of them.
"Well," Nate said, "I guess that answers my question. Now, about that pizza..." "Come on!" His friends shouted in unison, and the four had a race to the phone.
