Inspiration struck, so I took a bit to type this out for diversity's sake. Piranha Plants make pretty obvious, easy predators. I debated making the plant its own character, giving it a personality, gender, dialogue, and such. That's an idea that I'll have to revisit.
I tried to keep the story somewhat adhered to canon, though. Nothing too implausible, aside from the digestion. Everyone knows when you die in the Mushroom Kingdom, you just strike a pose facing the fourth wall, become a part of the foreground, and fly up before dropping below the screen with a "do doo do do do do do do do, do do."
Also, completely gratuitous panty shot.

A nice break for between your main story...and Mushroom Kingdom-related,too!...You are getting much better with each story...it's almost getting scary...>>;

What can I say, Nintendo franchises make for rather excellent source material! Helps that I know all the games inside and out, too.
