This is my concept for the psyonic relay tower for the bugs. It extends the queen's range of control over her minions. This is the bug after it has reached full maturity but is still in it's locomotive stage meaning it has legs and has not planted it's tentacle roots making it's self a permanent structure. Many relay bugs spend their whole lives in the locomotive stage. Here we see a woman host is being held by the bug in a special pouch while specialized tentacles are feeding on her breast milk. Like all bugs the relay bug lacks the ability to produce a certain protein found in human breast milk. Above her head we can see the tentacle that feeds her water and sweet tasting compounds the creature produces to keep her well fed.
Notice that there is no hood over her head. She is not being directly controlled by the bug. In fact, the only time the bug does control a woman is to force her to clime into it's pouch or to walk closer to become it's next meal. In it's stomach sack you can see one such woman digesting now. She was lured by the woman in the pouch's cries for help. It's important to note, even thought she can hear the hives thoughts buzzing around in her head, due to her close proximity to the tower, the host is never fully integrated into the hive. That being said, years spent listening to the constant whirl of thoughts of the hive has an indoctrinating effect and tends to brain wash women over time into thinking that they are a member of it.
Notice the strange organ on the top of the tower. This is the organ that actually receives and retransmits the signals of it's insects and it's queen. It can also overwhelm the thoughts of people in close proximity into obeying it's will.

Great idea and drawing for your relay tower bug. I love the cradol you have the one girl being head in as the Relay bug feeds on her breast milk. I also love the milk idea, great way to exsplam why the hive love to drink breast milk! Gives me a few ideas for new bugs! Also love the tight stomach sack, give a wonderful look of the girl inside it!
