Story attached for those interested :33
~~~
Kira was a girl. She lived in a well kept hut, in a well kept jungle, quite near a silly village of silly humans. Kira was 27 years old, according to her sister. Neither of them could remember her birthday.
Sis lived in a castle, only a mile or so from the jungle's edge. Sis was quiet and sometimes very mean, but Kira loved her as any sister should. The two of them had a bond, they knew, that had endured since they were born. So, when Sis said that Kira ought to get rid of the silly village, Kira was happy to agree. It was a solo task though, as Sis refused to leave her pretty house.
"Mmmm..." Kira sighed, squirmed, and gave a soft belch, which drifted through the barren settlement like a ghost. They had been a simple people; jungle folk always were, but... -Kira sighed as she cast her gaze down to the huge, gurgling gut which now adorned her middle- ...she already missed them. There wasn't anther village for miles on end, and these humans had been so good to her, so entertaining, so persistent. They had always been up for a game or two; in fact, they had often initiated games of their own, and no matter how often they lost, no matter how many spent their final hour in their opponent's cream-furred belly, their spirit could not be broken. ...Well, Kira mused as she shifted a little, her leg becoming sore from its cramped position beneath her wobbling girth, now they had no spirit left to break.
A light rattle brought her ears up on end, and with a heavy grunt she rolled forward, eliciting a massive sloshing groan as she tried to peer over her belly. "...Hello?" She called, noting with some amusement that bloated tone in her voice. "...Hey?" ...Silence. She shivered. "....Hellloooo?" She called out once more, as she felt a little bead of sweat carve a chilling path down her neck. Kira shut her eyes, inhaled deeply, and opened them again. Then, she began to lean forward just a little more...
Another rattle sounded, and Kira snapped her gaze tight on its source: a bone. A bone. She laughed as a couple more bones tumbled down after it, settling at the base of the pile. Right, those. Dry old bones. Sure, she thought. Anyone who passed by might think they were her doing, but she had no interest in working for her meals. The pile she had seated herself on was the result of countless sacrifices, certainly, performed by the humans on their own friends. And they think I'm scary, Kira thought, with a giggle, then a cough. Turning her head suddenly, she grimaced, shuddered, and belched. Something small and wet popped past her lips: a tiny finger bone. "Mmmm, hello~" she murred, watching it clatter down the pile to join its ancestors. The humans were coming along. She'd be able to move soon...
A creak, and a series of small clinks caught her ear, bringing a bemused pout to her face. That sound was n-
A wave of bones surged forward beneath her as something gave way, and the pile collapsed into a miserable carpet on the red-tinged grass. Kira rolled well past the carpet, carried by sheer momentum across the clearing and -crash- into something hard... and painful. Dust rained down on her dazed face, and she gave a little start as a massive chunk of dried mud fell inches from her, smashing into slivers on the ground. Scrambling, she rolled from the sight of the crash as gracefully as she could manage, her body aching. Before her stood the remains of a small mud hut, practically decimated from the force of the collision. She hissed and cast her gaze over her shoulder to scowl at where she had once sat; that stupid pile of bones had ruined her day. Her hand rubbed agitatedly along the surface of her belly. It hurt now... she had felt so good a moment ago, and now everything ached. Kira whimpered. There was nobody left either... nobody to hear her gentle sniffling, to help her up, to offer a hand despite everything. She had eaten all her friends. ...well, acquaintances at least. She admitted, it had been a bit of a love-hate relationship.
This question may seem a little grim, but why do you seem to enjoy death so much?
If you're referring to the story, try not to associate my thoughts with hers. I don't enjoy death, and I certainly don't share the views of my characters on it.
Asking why she seems to enjoy death so much is a very valid question in that regard. The story is there so you can ask those sorts of questions.
