Well, the slender jester was just about to get off the stage when I thought I heard a thump behind me. I turned to look over my shoulder at the bleachers higher but I couldn't see anyone at all... it was a bit strange, because I thought there was someone sitting five bleachers up behind me, but many things are strange and it could've been my imagination.
The lights spiralled randomly to give a sense of excitement before they were attracted back towards the middle of the stage. The show began, creepy people, crazy people, and some people on stage that made me blush! There was three things I noticed about this circus. First of all, my witchy senses were tingling! Something was diffenetally diffenetally diffenetally wrong! Second of all, there seemed to be less and less of the audience around, and I swear I heard some more thumps around! Third of all, where were the cute boy clowns?! I have yet to see a single one!
Of course my heightened paranoia saved me from what was just about to happen. I felt two strong hands grip my ankles and instantly jumped up. Before I could really make any progress in my escape, I was pulled down under the bleachers with a rather loud THUMP as my chin smashed into the wood on it's departure out of sight.
Now when you get pulled under the bleachers of a mysteriously creepy circus and no one notices, the first thing you do is NOT TO PANIC! However, I did exactly that... I screamed like a kitten and began kicking my legs out and grasping at the dirt, my claws sinking in but gaining no purchase as I was dragged back deeper. I turned my head around to see something no one ever wants to see, a pair of lips opening to take my feet inside!
A further look and I noticed it was a harlequin that was trying to devour me, but worse, is the outfit was placed over a drider... something you don't want to share space with in the dark. I knew that I had mere seconds before I ended up in a stomach so I spent those seconds rather wisely. If screaming didn't work, and clawing didn't work... surely setting fire to the bleachers would perform miracles... right?
Well, as soon as the spell left my hand and caused a searing hole through the seats above me and setting the circus alight, I most diffenetally stopped the drider from swallowing, those black eyes staring at the fire in confusion, terror, and shock. With such a golden opportunity, I wasn't going to waste it! I instantly pulled my legs out of the creature's mouth and slammed my boot into her face... hard!
She reeled with a cry of anger and pain and looked at me with ruined facepaint, my bootprint onto her face. Of course the next second would either make or break me, and I'm glad I certainly panic in the right form of ways... by setting fire to more things! I extended my arm out and sent a fireball her way. She rolled over (an interesting sight considering the massive spider body) as the ball of pure magical destruction sailed past her and burned a hole through the tent. There was a lot of commosion outside of the bleachers while I began running towards that freshly burned hole.
However, I felt my leg get stuck and yanked back by an invisible force, a web no doubt. I cried out in defeat as I slammed back into the floor and was dragged back into the circus. I turned around to the snarling drider before spreading my arms wide and letting sickly green energy run through them. "Back off or I WILL summon demons!" I shouted at her. She stopped, a bit confused. The truth was, I CAN Summon demons, but I realized (after an incredibly sexy and almost fatal misadventure) that I can't control them. However, the drider didn't know that.
"STOP!" It was the slender woman's voice, she was kneeling over the hole I had caused and stared at us two. Something seemed wrong about her... face. That smile didn't move at all now that I paid attention. "Let her go, she's not a meal, she's a witch... I'd rather not scurry around trying to fight demons and whatever other atrocities she can summon upon us."
The drider was apperantly lower than the creepy skinny tall woman so she let me go, and I slowly powered down my magic. I stared at the slender woman and she grinned at me. "Hello there, witch... you're today's only survivor!"
The cheeriness of her voice unnerved me...
