Dear Din,
I heard quite recently that you enjoy your food just as much as I do!
How would you like to attend dinner at my place?
I've never tried to cook this sort of dinner, and you would be some great support.
I was thinking about a roast tonight.
Sincerely, Remnant.

Din Fleetpaw, the raccoon had met some strange people over the times, but Remnant Dusk was quite bizarre. He had only talked with him over the internet, but from what he could decipher by his online demeanor, this wolf who had sent him the email was a curious character, vrey mysterious. But nothing would entice Din more than an invitation to enjoy a roast for dinner. He thumbed through the possibilites as he typed his reply through; if there was one night to meet a new person, it seemed tonight would be that night. He looked up his contact, found the address, and left on his way to the wolf's humble abode.

Remnant was busying himself in the kitchen, everything he needed, except for Din's help, was ready. A large roasting pan, some cooking twine, some marinade, and finally some spices. The wolf necromancer looked over all his equipment, checking his mental list of all the requirement.

"Come on Din, where are you?" he questioned to himself in a soft voice, as a solid rasp suddenley resounded through the front door. Immediately Remnant's ears perked up as he bolted to the door and called through to the other side. "Who is it?" he let out in his dark voice.

"Just a certain raccoon!" a voice returned from the otherside, Remnant opening the door to reveal a grey raccoon standing eagerly, around a head shorter than the wolf himself.

"Finally your here! I've been waiting all night for you!" Remnant replied with a hint of eagerness, "How is dinner complete without a raccoon?"

Din had a quick thought over what he had just heard, but it quickly faded as his own eagerness overcame him, "Hey, it's not everyday you get to help a young chef with his cooking abilities!" The raccoon grew excited and ran over to the kitchen staring in at the equipment ready. "So what are you cooking tonight?" He blurted as he turned around to see Remnant standing directly in front of him.

"Oh, tonight I was thinking we could have a tasty, roast raccoon!" Remnant roared as he suddenley slammed a fist into Din's face, causing the raccoon to fade into black among the echoing sound of a sadistic laugh.

Grogily, the raccoon known as Din Fleetpaw opened his eyes, seeing only a blurred figure in the distance. He slowly tried to get up, but found his wrists tied out in front of him, anchored to a spot in the air. His eyes began to clear, and noticed he was lying on his back, staring directly at his hands and foot paws. His wrists were tied together tightly, and then his ankles were tied either side. His eyes widened as he looked over his entire body, noticing he had been striped of his clothes, and found that a familiar wolf stood not far past his legs, leaning over a bowl.

"Wh..What happened?" murmured Din as he began to absorb his surroundings as far as his position would allow. He was high off the ground and lying on a metal tray, hands and feet bound with cooking twine.

"Oh, glad to see your awake Din, I didn't punch that hard did I?" questioned Remnant in a mocking tone.

"Wait! What! Punch Me?" the frazzled raccoon stuttered.

"Yes, of course Din, but then again you wouldn't remember, would you? Din I never wanted help with dinner, as you will find out, I am a very competent cook. I want you for dinner!" Remnant teased sadistically.

The raccoon's eyes widened as he watched Remnant talk, an unwavering look of sadism in the wolf's eyes. "Please! Don't do this Remnant! I just met you, leave me be! I just met you, why would you do this? Why?" Din blurted out question after question as his brain swirled with confusion.

"Oh come on now Din! Didn't you mummy ever tell you not to jump straight into things?" the wolf mocked with a sly grin creeping across his face, "Now how about we get that confusion to come out in bloom, can you shed a few tears for me Din?"

Din continued to quiver in fear, despite being restricted from moving, "What? Tears?"

"Alright then my tasty raccoon, I'll help you out!" Remnant spoke softly as he reached under the bench that Din was laying atop of, revealing a long, sharpened hunting blade. "Don't worry tasty, this won't hurt too much!" the wolf roared as he took Din's tail, pulling it straight, and softly pressured the point of the blade into the tail, watching as Din immediately yelped in suprise.

Remnant stared into Din's eyes, watching them tremble, but not shed a tear, "No tears?" he laughed, "I'm just gonna have to try harder then won't I?" He left the knife in place and gripped the end of Din's tail, carefully studying it with intent.

"Wh.. What are you doing Remnant?" Din whimpered, scared of the reply which flowed out of Remnant's lips with ease.

"I'm searching for your tail's weak spot Din, and I think I just found it!" he roared as he took the tip of the tail softly in his palm. With sudden impact, Remnant closed his hand over the raccoon's tail like a vice, a crunching sound immediately echoing throughout the hall as Din suddenley screamed in severe pain, tears instantly flowing from his eyes. Remnant looked to Din in his vulnerable position, and then down to his own fist, small trickles of blood dripping between his fingers. The wolf took a deep breath in and out, savouring the painful screams of his prey, who slowly went quiet as the pain became bearable, still whimpering and now shivering from the sudden attack.

"Alright then Din, I'll end the pain of you tail now, I promise it will be better sooner or later." Remnant suddenley soothed to the terrified raccoon, pulling the knife that rested in Din's tail from its place, and immediately slaming it down again, forcing it through the quivering raccoon's tail, closer to his body, severing it cleanly from it's stump. The already distraught raccoon instantly screamed out in pain, eyes widening further with streams of tears running down his face. His body shivered from shock, his mind clouding, but clearing again as Remnant again began to talk.

"There we go Din, now there's no annoying tail to get in the way, send you through the pain now so that you can ..." Remnant thought for a moment, picking his words precisely, "relax, yes, that fits perfectly."

Din continued to whimper, but began to think upon Remnant's words, before speaking, "Wait, what do you mean by relax?" he questioned in an attempt at calm.

"Din, I am a sadistic necromancer, with a barely beating heart, and with such a loose grasp on emotions that I have barely taught myself to laugh, but one emotion I still have a hold on is compassion. It isn't a lovely feeling to be cooked, and I try to make it comfortable for my prey, unless the really piss me off!" Remnant spoke as he offered a soft grin to the raccoon, who's brain had scattered at the mixed messages he was recieving.

"So, wait..." Din trailed off, "Your not going to kill me?"

Remnant blurted out an attempt at a laugh, "Sorry Din, don't get your hopes up! You will die tonight, but it will be a pleasant experience. The other week, I had the pleasure of eating a particular lion, trapping him in much the same way as I did you. However, I found out that he enjoyed death and pain, so I gave him what he wanted! You don't deserve to be killed horribly, I may be sadistic, but my half dead heart is still there!"

Din sat for a moment in confusion and awe, taking in what Remnant had just said in silence.

"Well anyway Din, how about we get cooking?"

Immediately, the raccoon snapped back to reality, but began to relax, despite the oddly dry stump of his former tail, the other half of which sat draped around Remnant's neck like a scarf. "Um, alright, as long as it won't hurt." Din replied reluctantly.

"It won't hurt as long as I do this!" Remnant laughed as he plunged a new found syringe into Din's shoulder, injecting the raccoon with a strange liquid. "With that liquid in your blood, you won't be pained by the cooking process, nor the eating process, and won't actually die until I carve you up."

Din attempted to give an soft hooray, his lips moving but no sound coming out, before looking to Remnant with a bewildered look on his face.

"Unfortunately, there are side effects to these thing, particularly making the recipient mute. But believe me, if I was talking to you the whole time I prepare you, then I might make a mistake." Remnant smiled in response to Din's expression. "Now let's get this happening!"

Remnant immediately set to work, grabbing the bowl of marinade he had been adding to before Din had woken up, and brushing the mixture across the raccoon's body. He began to work at the paws, working down the legs, across the belly, around the back and across the chest, before giving Din a brush on the nose just to watch the raccoon try and lick it off. He continued to brush the raccoon down, making sure to evenly coat his meal.

"Now you looks tasty!" roared Remnant somewhat excitedly, "How about we spice you up a little though?" He reached eagerly for a second bowl, dipping his hand into its contents, a mix of spices and herbs, and began to smear it across Din's now glistening body. He worked it into the raccoons body, making sure that it absorbed into the marinade mixture.

Content with his work, Remnant looked over Din, licking his lips. "Time to cook Din, you think you're ready?" he asked, washing his hands of the spices and marinade, acknowledging Din's speechless nod. Slowly and carefully, the wolf, picked up the tray with his new found friend on it, and carried it over to a ready waiting oven, plunging him into the warm darkness. Remnant gave one last nod to hiw dinner, and closed the oven door, setting the timer and moving to the kitchen to get set up for his dinner.

Atop of Remnant's table, sat a golden brown roast, fit for royalty. It had been visibly coated in a soft mix marinade and rubbed with spices, and roasted to perfection. Remnant looked over the roast, a raccoon, who smiled back up at the shadow wolf from his helpless position. Remnant simply raised a knife and gave a simple nod to the raccoon.

"Thanks Din!"
