I like this my only complaint if you will is shouldn't mae's stomch go farther then just that bulge as when I think of lamia (which Mae is surprisingly there is an actual difference between naga and lamia) most of the tail is a long stomach allowing one to gobble down more and have more firm bulges in it :3

A suggestion to the artist, considering how the green mermaid is more upside-down/on the ground, I think her hair should be more splayed out and everywhere. Fantastic work regardless, I love it!

There are many ways one can digest with less-common body orefaces. For instance, the womb can digest via absorption, magic, or other means.
HOWEVER, funny you ask, Vaginal fluid, and fluid in the womb is acidic in nature, as to prevent bacterial infection, etc, so not so far fetched.

The womb also has many safety measures to ensure no damage occurs during gestation, even at the expence of its occupant(s)
Female bears will reabsorb thier unborn durring hibernation if less then satisfactory conditions are met. (Mainly having enough fat for the long winters) Humans can do this to but only before the child reaches a certain stage, it can however reject it after resulting in a miscarriage.
Its so sad how somthing so comforting and lifegiving is actually more dangerous then most give credit for. Scary :(
