and here's the start of a sci fi world I'm trying around with.
I got more characters and locations in mind already. Just no starting storylines yet.
Woudl anyone here be more interested in reading more about the sci fi world I've been building up?
got any ideas/characters that could fit in too? Feel free to send them my way too.

Maria and Eve are mine.
And I need a better name for the storyline and setting.

Hmm... I've got a character or two in mind... if you don't mind long, heavily detailed descriptions...

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

well, give it to me?

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

Very well... A Cybernetic Homunculus (for lack of better term)/ Nekomata by the singular name of Var. Basically, a Homunculus created purely through artificial means. From 'skin' stronger than spider silk, to carbon fiber muscle tissue, all the way to the Orichalclum skeleton an nanite driven circulatory system. While covered in a coat of pure white fur, Var also houses highly advanced combat system (just in case ;D) Two Gungnir-class energy disruption cannons, housed within each arm. Aegis grade barrier shields that can project up to 50ft around and withstand a dozen tactical nukes. Icarus grade aerial propulsion frame (wings) and two high energy vector cutters. Though all in all, a kind individual... even with the potential for wide scale destruction. Feel free to use this 'Model' in any of your stuff, I don't mind... since I'll be 'mass-producing' her just in case...

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

she actually sounds interesting.
nekomate means catgirl, right?
is it ok if I modify what she looks like?

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

Sure. And yes, though to be a bit more precise, A Nekomata is a plain ole cat who's lived for 1000(ish) years and 'demonized' As for a Homunculus: Artificial human. So to summarize: A bio-mechanical Nekomata. As before, feel free to use her in any of your stuff, no need to tie her down to 'strict sci-fi only'

I just wish I could envision my own stories beyond a 'Chapter Two Perma-Writer's Block' or 'What Happens Next'. The characters are easy, the setting.... *sigh*

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

oh sure. I was thinking white fox female instead if that's ok with you?

I know that problem all too well..
I usually just try to write some one offs to get into the mood, that's what helps me at least.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

White fox... I thought you'd try that, seeing as how almost all of your characters are some such likeness... Though if its ok with you, I'd rather she keep the 'cat look'... Plus I think your 'script' could use some more variety... although I could allow a 'biomorph' function to be installed, but her default ('combat mode') will stay nekomata.

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

I know I got a load of foxes..
I am a furry myself, and my favorite animal is the fox.
I got other nin vulpine characters, but when it comes to sit donw and draw/write I usually find it easier to write up with one fo the Reguar (which are pretty much all foxes) than my more exotic nonvulpine characters.
and when I put up a journal asking for ideas in what or who to use.. I don't get any feedback, so..
I'll try to use less vulpines and drag some of the others onto the scene.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

You know what... Scratch that last one, go ahead. As I stated before, I'll be 'mass-producing' her, so why not add some variety to the 'model' designes. Congratulations! Model No.V1127-F is now yours! ...Just means I'll be keeping hold on No.V1125N for now...

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

thankies. I'll take good care of her.
anythign I should pay attention to regarding her name?
I could take Neko off your hads too, adn yeah, I promise I won't change her. Just throwing it out there just in case..

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

Name? Could've sworn I included that, but in case you missed it, her name would be Var. Simple, yet stuck, so I went with it. Maybe I should mention the Nanoflex full-body armor, capable of re-assembling in an instant... or the fact that she could essentially level a nation single-handed..... you know what, just pick her up on a war-torn, post-apocalyptic wasteland type world (I know you're traveling in space, and yes, I've been lurking) Let's just say a lotta stuff happened, and that for whatever reason, the faction that started said war created knock-offs resulting in the forsaken world she now wanders, alone for neatly a millenium.... Yes it's sad, yet fitting.

Really? You'd be willing to 'adopt' the V1125N model? Huh... guess I should give it a different name... and backstory.... You sure you want two essential god-teir cybernetic homunculi?

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

oh yeah. you did tell what her name was, shows how much I'm paying attention.
I really like your idea of picking her up on a ruined and war-torn world. I'll add it to my notes.

you lurk? is it you the girls has been hearing in the empty rooms onboard Mother? (joking, just joking)

sure, what's the worst that could happen? (please don't answer that)

and lastly, sorry about being 3 days late to respond, but real life happened.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

Yeah, real life sucks like that (pardon my language). Then again, I'm responding 2 days late so.. meh.

Alright, just wanted to make sure (and stall for time to come up with a name for the Neko model) and I've decided to name the V1125N model Xeru. As for backstory, essentially one of those 'duplicates' that unnamed military/rebel faction/terrorist group made (or the original creator made it, your call), got launched off-world as a sort of 'insurance policy' mixed with a bit of "Krypton's gonna esplode, launch helpless kid off planet in metal coffin" type scenario. I'll let you fill in the specifics of how and why, but end result is Xeru's current off-line status/cold sleep 'still napp'n in space-pod' scenario.

..And yes, I still have some.... other fun stuff, but this only asked for a 'Sci-fi' type, so I'll hold out for now.... *smiles teasingly*

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

real life just happens.. it sucks, but we can't make it not happen.

oohh, Thanks fdor the names and how I get them. I'll take good care of Var and Xeru.

you talking fantasy, or? I mean, I got a dragon, demons, a goddess and certain other fantasy creatures onboard already.
And the guys I'm currently fleeing from is a race of unicorns.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

Well... I've come up with various 'entities' ranging from shapshifters, demon royalty, falsified 'heavenly beings' (they were really interdimensional travelers, and essentially blew up religion), half-demons, cybernetic homunculi, and then some. I just don't feel like overloading this one 'item' with all of them...

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 11 years ago Report

oohh, very nice! I can see what you mean there.
got any creatures that coudl be stowaways on the bigger spaceships?
any of them that lives out in outer space?
any ideas for villains/villain groups?

also, I am toying around with 'lost in space' again.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 11 years ago Report

If you're asking 'Do I have more characters that you could use' then yes, actually. I'd probably use them myself, but I can never get the 'script' far enough to be happy with it, and thus tend to rush things. (As for why I've commented like this, look at all dem replies)

I've actually been thinking: "Hey, it's space right? So where are the mercenaries? The rebels? The pirates?" things like that. Maybe I could toss the chatacters I've got locked up in my head into a sort of "rouge mercenary/rebel' group type, since it seems thete's more than evil unicorns and mechas roaming around.

As for the characters themselfs, I can reveal more about them (Species, Abilities, Personalities, ect.) If you so wish....

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

hehe, yeah. I think I was asking for characters or anything like that.

well. I got the big bad empire already. I got the pirate queen too..
And I got a bounty hunter that joins up but yet sells out my location to the higherst bidder every chance she gets. You want to help me fill out the 'bad guy' character gallery?

sure, tell me if you got any good hired guns or any characters like that?

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

Well, I've mulled over the idea of putting a few of the characters I've created into a mercenary group of sorts. Funny thing though; you seem to prefer canine (fox, wolf, ect.) while I prefer feline (though I blaim Disgaea for that... dem Nekomata...)

Anyway, I won't stall any longer, so here:

(Note: most, if not all, members have had a bit of a sad past, therefore will prove to be untrusting of others for a time)

First is the founder of Phantom; Naomi. A neko/angel of the Sephiroth rank (remember that comment about 'blowing up religion, yeah) who willingly seceded leadership to the co-founder, Enchidna. Highly skilled in various forms of combat, from hand-to-hand to conventional warfare, her prefered weaponry consists of a N57 Variable-range electron rifle and the legendary Kusagari, though renamed 'Clearing Field' for simplicity. Can also manipulate gravity to deadly effect. She also has a strict code of equality when in combat: If her opponent is unarmed, so is she (only applies to CQC {Close Quarters Combat}) Also quite the accomplished chef

Co-founder and current leader of Phantom is Enchidna, former member of the demon realms royal family (for description, think of Naga as a Neko, with rst red rune like markings covering both her azure fur and slate grey scales) Highly skilled with dark magic and illusionry, essentially can pull off a mass mind-break/murder scenario... that is, if she was a soulless bloodthirsty eldritch horror... Enjoys herbal tea.

Sachi would be the essential 'shadow' seeing as how she's a shapeshifter, though not the conventional variety. Her ability allows her to 'shift' from a black-clad neko (I already stated my preference) complete with a 'face mask' (it's really a physical part) to a lithe panther-like creature with four bladed tendral-like appendeges, two on each arm. Quite sneaky, and also not afraid to ambush any unsuspecting individual.

Calx is easily the youngest member of the group, being about 375 years old (when the group is full of myth-type beings, its natural) Though only a half-demon, she also appears 'most demon-like' due to her 'gargoyle/dragon' apperance. While she may seem timid, do not be decieved, especially since she can read your mind AND hurl you across the room without moving. Her critical weakness is home-baked cookies, surprisingly.

These characters arn't 'evil', more 'chaotic neutral/ good'. As for villains, and seeing my intel on myth, maybe.... a Basilisk? No, not the big snake of the girls bathroom from Harry Potter, a true basilisk is more chicken/velociraptor type creature with the Medusa effect (turns ya to stone). Seems like a good idea, at least.

TheGleamEyes

*facepalm just happened* forgot something: DX

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

*second facepalming* Should probably mention: With Naomi being of the Sephiroth rank, she has six wings, not a measily two (usually wrapped around her waist, chest, and over shoulders when not in use)

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

added this little part to my notes too.

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

thanks. I got a note file I'm working on and it's still expanding quickly.

those four will show up as their small faction (PHANTOM) And I think they will get into a situastion where both my group adn theirs believes the other groupo is workign for whoever we're all fighting against at that point.

Also, I kinda want Mara ending up in a one on one with one of these characters. Mara, in case I haven't introduced her properly in my writing, iw a taller blackfurred mare with her tail adn mane burning, she's a nightmare(demnic horse) adn is usually equipped with a giant wearhammer and a obsodian black and evil looking armor.

and last, tell me about your Basilisk villain too, sure.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

Hmmm... a dark world demon horse... I'd vote Naomi for that role. Bulletproof wings, gravity manipulation, and the sword torn from the tail of the eight-headed serpent from japanese myth.

As for the Basilisk, I (originally) thought Echro, but then I changed the name (and by changed, I mean altered) to Enkhrow. Being a Basilisk and what not, he's essentially a feathered reptile with the ability to petrify anyone who looked him eye-to-eye. I also thought of giving him a Agent Smith type personality (without the consistant "Mr. Anderson," of course) Besides that, he leads the Imperial Tactical Assault Commandos (I-TAC), so theres that.

And how'd you guess the scenario I had in mind. To be honest, there was a fifth member, but first I'd like to ask your opinion on another "-'wild' Pokémon" appearing...

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

yeah, I was thinking Naomi too.

he sounds like a poweful one, that Enkrow. Give me a few words to work out from when I might let him appear? Like do he want to rule or destroy?

and sure, the more the merrier, after all. and luck, I think?

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

also, tell me more about the empire soldiers.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

Basically, for the Imperial Tactical Assault Commandos, think something along the lines of SEAL Team Six, add in powerful abilities (i.e. phasing, elemental, ect.), and some crazy high tech weapon and kit (Kit: Items such as armor, sidearms, explosive ordinance, comm systems, ect.).

As for Enkhrow, I was thinking his first appearamce being 'neutral', appearing only to speak some cryptic stuff, then fading into the shadows.

Finally, the fifth member of Phantom.
Not many have faced Phantom's 'Spectral Sword' and lived, and those who did never fought against her. The 'Spectral Sword,' Opal, is a Mawile (I consider 97% of Pokémon as nonhuman) whom at some point in her life had been experimented on via Imperial scientists. By the time she made her destructive escape, they had already 'frozen' her in what a 'Trainer' would call the 'Mega-Evolved' state. (I would rather label it as am Awakened state) Though not everything the now deceased reaserchers did was a bad thing. Not only did she have two natural weapons in her two vice-like horns, but could now manipulate ethereal energies, creating things like blades, energized spheres, and 'lasers'. Personality wise, the experiments edured left her distrustful, but also slightly eccentric. Often becoming lost in familiar surroundings, yet finding her way with ease in new environments. As for hobbies and the like, it has been noted by the rest of Phantom that she seems to have an affinity for gardening, landscape art, and, strangely, mechanic-type work.

I should add that I consider her to be 'clothed,' wearing a traditional japanese haori and hakama (being the 'shirt' and 'pants' some may consider natural)

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

I aslo feel I didn't describe Calx well enough. I should clarify that the 'dragon-like gargoyle' refers to the attire she is often seen in, though her actual appearance is more gargoyle, with slate grey skin etched with azure rune-like markings, and one 'halo' mark upon her head, centered between the three, stubby, cone shaped horns (in triangle formation). Other than the horns and wings, her overall appearance is 'smooth'. (I should also state that her skin is literary 'stone-cold') She also has a habbit of standing completely still in a given location exactly 'like a statue' (which is sometimes used as an ambush technique)

TheGleamEyes

I know I've been 'forgeting' a bunch of stuff, so I'm just gonna list (hopefully) everything I've forgotten. If not, well, too bad.

- As a result of the exmeriments edured; Opal's eyes are a soulless, emotionless grey color

-The experiments also left Opal 'ageless' thus essentially immortal

-Enchidna has the ability to 'shift' from a serpentine tail to a set of legs. The legs being her natural form of movement, while the serpentine tail being merely an asthetic preference.

-Enchidna is approximately 2,567 years old, but since she was born on the 32 day of the twelth month (which is exclisive to her homeland) her birthday doesn't really 'exist'

-Enchidna was exiled from her homeland due to a difference in ideals between her and the rest of her family

-Naomi is about 2,351 years old, and was there when 'religion got blown up'

-roughly 157 years before starting Phantom, Naomi's daughter was abducted and murdered by the same group of Imperial scientists that 'screwed up' Opal.

-Sachi lost her family and home during a terrible storm. Essentially orphaned, it was not long before she began working as a 'gun for hire'

-Sachi has yet to divulge her age, though it has been hinted that she is older than Naomi but younger than Enchidna.

-Calx was the only survivor of a massacre that left her small village in ruins.

-Enkrow sports a 'Agent Smith' motif, from his tone to his dress style, wearing a 'federal agent' type suit and sunglasses (which are more to prevent unwanted petrifying)

-Enkrow's petrification can be cured by using liquid methane. Alternatively, using angel blood also works, since it can cure most any ailment.

-Imperial Tactical Assault Commandos are mainly highly advanced androids, though some are biological in nature.

-The war which left Var's homeworld lifeless and ravaged was started by I-TAC agents, with the goal of obtaining Var's over-tech. Needless to say it backfired on them...

-Opal's bizzare abilities allow her to 'phase' through solid structures, so long as they are artificial in nature.

-Enkrow has a peculiar quirk, in which he will suddenly stop mid-scentace and stand in a trance-like state. After a few seconds, he will usually leave. He also abuses teleportarion when talking.

-Calx is slightly shy, but that is usually overwritten by her random ambushing and 'curiosity' (if you get what I mean)

Hopefully that should cover it for these guys. If I forgot anything else, too bad.
Anyway I'm currently mulling over a few ideas for more characters. I'll pass them your way once I have them fleshed out, if you'd like o_ô

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

*Facepalm* Edit: (Almost) forgot to add this:

-While in her 'humanoid' form, Enchidna has two cat-like tails, a mark of her status of having lived over a thousand years.

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

wow, that's a lot of info. I'll sort through it and put it in where it belongs in my notes.
Enkrow sounds awesome, in the 'I'm ggonna kill you, one way or another' kind of way.
any ideas for the 'cryptic stuff' he will be saying?

I like the idea of Opal too, actually. She seems like a warrior type. But so do the rest of 'phantom'

and sure, send any characters and factiosn you're mulling my way.

TheGleamEyes

Posted by TheGleamEyes 10 years ago Report

Hmm... Well, for 'cryotic stuff' I was thinking stuff along the lines of things like riddles and/or coded messages, like "The industrial might expands steadily, unless poisoned" = "Times up" as a rough example. Basically pure headache enducing confusion at times.

As for Opal.... yeah... dem Imperial scientists really screwed her up...

As for everyone in Phantom, I figured the 'tragic past' approach would work best. Each of them lost something, but together they gained something. Thus my reason for making them 'untrusting' when first added.

Sorry if it seems I'm 'talking' too much, I just can't gather my thoughts when I need them >_<

Fairlyn

Posted by Fairlyn 10 years ago Report

yeah, I don't think you talk too much.
They are just rather well developed, all of your characters.
