The use of this as a base is NOT PERMITTED. PLEASE ASK BEFORE USING IT! I may or may not put a point price on this!
The watermark is there for a reason, though this Pony Species is an Open Species, do not steal this base.
(The creator of this kind of Tatzlpony is DanielTepesKraus over on Derpibooru. )
Original bio from his original picture edit: http://derpibooru.org/577077
(As far as I can tell, the species is free reign as he hasn't posted otherwise that they're exclusively his, so here I go making a bio for them! If you have any questions about them then I will try to answer them/make something up XD
I'm pretty sure he'll be fine with this bio of mine, but I will try to contact him later just in case.)
Species: Tatzlpony
Appearence: Tatzlponies almost look like snake ponies (Not naga/Lamia ponies) except for the fact of the lightning markings around their eyes; However, if you should ever meet one, you'll quickly find that they can also split apart their lower jaws in half and usually have at least three, tentacle-like tongues, also known as "Coils". Their long tails also have what can be classified as "Spines" on their tips which vary in shape from Tatzlpony to Tatzlpony. Like all ponies, they can acquire cutie marks and can have a horn or wings like a unicorn or a pagasus, though a unique trait about them, other than having split jaws, three tongues and a serpentine tail with spines on the end, there are no Alicorn Tatzlponies. If there ever was such a creature among them, then they went extinct centuries ago.
They also have a relation to a different kind of Tatzlpony that are again just like a full pony, but they have a wurm-like tail instead, though the two Species are vastly different.
Diet: Just like a pony, they are opportunistic omnivores, sticking mostly to fruits and vegetables and only eating meat when the need arises, though their natural habits may say otherwise. If they do eat meat of some sort, they have a strange way of storing the meat by lathering the food in a strange enzyme that prevents immediate digestion, which is the equivilant of putting preservatives in food to keep it from going bad. How long each Tatzlpony can "Store" food is different for each of them, though almost all of them have the ability to do so.
(NOTE: Yes I made that enzyme thing up for them, as with a lot of this bio, BUT some animals can, in fact, do something similar in real life, so the logic is still sound.)
Habits and Personality: Tatzlponies, unlike Tatzelwurms, are a mostly harmless race of equine found mostly in wet and/or warm climates. Despite having similar diets to a full pony, they do have an odd habit of swallowing every living creature they meet whole and alive with the added help of their triad of long tongues and their splitting mouths, but do not be alarmed if you see this or if you experience it. This is a natural and perfectly normal trait that most, if not all, Tatzlponies posses. They will almost always spit out the creature or pony within the next couple of minutes with the help of their tongues to help "Pull out" the occupoant in their stomachs, though they will sometimes keep them for a lot longer than that if they really like them.
Another habit to note is that they like to "Embrace" others that they know with their tongues. Again, this is perfectly normal, so do not be alarmed if one should start wrapping it's tongues around you if it hasn't already swallowed you whole. If you do not feel comfortable with such an action, do NOT lash out at them, for seeing as their tongues are wrapped around you already the next thing you'll be seeing are the insides of their stomachs. If you should ever befriend a Tatzlpony, and would not like to constantly be eaten, then try to encourage it to not to eat everyone they meet over and over again. Unkind words and actions often leads to that pony disappearing for long periods of time, sometimes simply vanishing altogether.
Personality wise, they are gentle and kind, choosing to remain hidden away from other ponies and pony species. They typically live in groups of two to three, sometimes going up to around five to six, though it is not uncommon to meet one alone in the woods or a jungle, or even a local cave. They are also pretty civilized to a sense and can speak just fine to anyone, though they don't live in large towns like ponies, meaning their "Settlements" are no more than a simple hut or two, but they can certainly live among other ponies if they are accepted enough. This rarely happens though since most ponies consider them "Monsters" for their appearences and natural habits and traits.
Danger?: For the most part, they are harmless creatures and are often misunderstood. It is because others view them as monsters most of the time that they rarely come out, but there have been instances that one has been accepted into a community. The main danger is if you've managed to anger one or a group of them in some way. Ponies who don't respect Tatzlponies and constantly attack them often times vanish for days or even weeks on end with little to no trace of where they went, and sometimes they simply dissappear. If you simply think they are a monster, then you will likely only get yelled at or ignored, but anything more insulting to them may be hazardous to your health.
((And that's that. I tried to keep this as open as possible for all to enjoy. If you're wondering about the "No Alicorns in this species" thing, well that's because a Tatzlpony Alicorn will sound like a disrespectful Mary Sue and you'll only recieve grief for him or her, but if you DO make one anyway, then try to at least make their backstory convincing enough to be fair but not too Over-Powered. I can help with that if you want to try, but I still say not to attempt it, but, again, that's just me.))

Well it's a new species, so that's not very surprising, though "Tatzljack" seems to have taken off already. This was inspired by her actually.

One thing I thought about with regards to Tatzlpegasi is that, since the long, fleshy tail would have far more mass than an equine tail it would move the center of mass backwards, which would cause aerodynamic instability. A solution for that might be a second pair of smaller wings near the tip of the tail, analogous to an airplane's horizontal stabilizer. This could, through changing the angle of attack, also help with stabilizing flight while carrying a pony, as the large belly would move the center of mass downwards, away from the thrust axis, and also cause asymmetric drag.

It's okay mate I deleted the double.
As for your idea, considering I only understood about half of it, sounds like a good idea! XD
If I ever have the time, I'll have to make a quick pic of something like that.
