Angel recently posted an interesting bit of trivia regarding her character, Angelissa. Specifically, the seraphim's favorite weapon, her "Hammer of Thor". This topic birthed some discussion and eventually a poll. The entry is a fun read from a delightfully detailed canon. Go have a look and place your vote.

After reading that post, I couldn't shake this image from my brain. The only way to get it out...was to draw it. Nothing about this picture is canonically accurate (in either Angel's or Thor's realities). It's a quilt of preferences stitched together with nothing more substantial than my own laughter. For example: I chose Thor's red bearded appearance, depicted in Norse mythology, over Marvel's oft clean-shaven demigod. However, I kept the latter's charmingly kooky Shakespearian speech patterns. Verily and forsooth; I did-ith!

Really what I love most about this is the speech. XD

Thanks, Lucky. "Quaker barking Jacobean prose" is a fun writing style. =)

I'm happy you enjoyed it, Angel.

While I like this I don't think she could beat Thor.

Canonically, she can't, at least not with her own power. But people seem to like this sort of thing, so it occasionally does pop up now and then. See it as a "what if?" story. ^^

my fantasy character can beat up yours! Who cares? Vore site @_@

Maybe if she caught him with his pants down - and I mean that literally, because in the Norse myths, Thor's great strength is enhanced by his magic belt Megingord, which makes the wearer stronger the more it's tightened.
Which I suppose makes it fairly useless for Angelissa or most of the other characters one sees around here, considering the big bellies they sport most of the time. ;)

Hehe...The fates of fantasy characters are birthed from imagination, and only limited by it. The outcome of Mighty A vs. Insignificant B is shaped less by statistics than authorial vision. The victorious underdog is a literary staple and envisioning his/her path to triumph can be a wonderfully fun writing exercise. As an author yourself, I bet you could come up with a creative and plausible way for anyone to defeat anyone. It all comes down to desire. =)

face palms! "Angel we need to talk about your eating hobbits....I mean this is just out of control......even I KNOW.....that you take the helmet off FIRST then eat your prey...." vixen rolls eyes. "That and Thor will just give you an upset tum! spit him out right now! you don't know where he has been."
good work frostbyte!

HAW! Excellent advice, Sharue, and well put. The thunder god might give Angelissa an uncomfortable rumbly in her tumbly. Better safe than sore.
