Popeye has been snapped up by giant mollusks more than once in his cartoon career. This time, in his Fleischer Studio design, he gets it while trying to rescue Olive's goldfish.

Of course, he smokes his way out--even underwater.

In this same cartoon, a jellyfish gets the better of him until he busts out his spinach....
