Background
When Dante Gianni was born, he was like any other infant. There were no medical issues that any doctor could see. It wasn't until the age of five when his mother noticed that he was, in fact, 4 inches shorter than he had been the year before. Doctors couldn�t tell what was wrong. By all accounts he appeared healthy besides the fact that he was shrinking rather than growing. By the time he was 12, he was no more than a foot high. Finally, at around the age of 16, he settled at 2 inches tall. His family did everything they did to make the proper accommodations. His mother and father kept the local doll shop in business with constant purchases of miniature clothing and furniture. His younger sister loved to tease him about his condition, but loved him as much as any sister could love a brother, sometimes a little too much, it seemed.
 
Dante�s parents were skeptical when it was finally time for him to go to college as an accounting major. Having been home schooled his entire life, they were afraid that the 2-inch boy wouldn't be able to handle himself. However, the local college�s biochemistry department offered to pay Dante�s entire tuition for 4 years and to make sure he was taken care of in exchange for being able to perform safe tests on Dante to find out more about his condition. Dante and his parents realized that this was a great opportunity and agreed to the deal.
 
It wasn't long before Dante met the girl who was, in his opinion, the most perfect girl in the world, Beatrice Mangiare. The two hit it off quickly and were going steady before a month. Before long, Dante had moved into Beatrice�s dorm, in a lavish dollhouse decorated by Beatrice herself. While Dante feels like her two dorm mates perhaps give him too much attention, Beatrice doesn't seem to mind. Dante would trust Beatrice with his life, and Beatrice would never hurt Dante.
 
Dante is always sure to look tidy when going out, despite the fact that it is nigh impossible to discern any details without a magnifying glass. He simply wants to keep Beatrice impressed, and she admires his attention to detail. Dante always keeps his rapier at his side, a gift made of a pin and given to him by Beatrice. Dante has many dangers to be aware of at his height, and with the rapier at his side, and a natural proficiency with it, he has taken on enemies multiple times his size. Dante doesn't want special treatment for his condition, and thus acts bravely in the face of danger, but is perfectly content with allowing Beatrice to take care of and defend him.
 
While initially dismissing the idea, Dante may have enjoyed being swallowed alive by his girlfriend than he initially let on.
