Someone is surely having fun, observing the power of a hungry drain quickly consuming a poor swimmer, sucking air like a vacuum cleaner. Bound and terrified, he can't do anything to stop being slurped into sewers: soon his toes and huge feet, seasoned from years of barefooting, will be squeezed in the voracious tornado and sucked down, the rest following.

Right here. This is why, when I was a kid, swimming in the deep end and being anywhere near the main-drain always gave me chills. And all these years later, it still kinda does. =\
