A bit of an experiment. The tumtober prompt list's really been making me work to come up with new things.
You might've already seen my Aja around, but I don't use him a lot. He's a gluttony demon and has something of a passion for experiemntal cooking.
Here, he's found some poor sap and's trying out a couple of new glazes.
You know the real kicker? Aja doesn't normally eat much. He'll probably just pick at them and note the flavours before trying another recipe. Harsh.

Can demons just attack or kidnap any human, or does the human have to do or be somewhere that makes them vulnerable?

Good question, I think it'd depend a lot on the situation. If a demon's been summoned and bound properly, they'd be severely limited in what they can do, but loopholes and things like the summomer slipping in how they word something could give them the opening to do as they please if they so desired.
If the demon's on earth independently, taking a human for their own puposes would be greatly frowned upon by their superiors when it's done with no good reason (like hunting deer without the intention to eat them. It's considered a waste.) They're creatures of tradition so there'd usually be a reason behind a kidnapping like calling in a debt or judging someone to be worth their weight, so to speak.
Generally, as well, even with supernatural means of stalking and taking them away, it'd still be a lot of effort to isolate the human and actually grab them so it's generally in the best interest of the demon to get someone they already know or have been 'working' on.
So for this, Aja's victim might have been a young chef that wanted to fast-track his way to a Michelin star, but neglected to close the deal in a way that would keep him (relatively) safe until death. Aja determines the contract filled once he's done his part and collects the chef when it's convenient.
(ghh does that make sense? I'm so bad at worldbuilding on the fly)
