When small, poorly made ships full of men escaping the persecution and devouring by the women of Europe arrived on the shores of the New World, the women there ate them almost immediately, only seeing them as nothing other than an exotic version of their favorite food. This historic event is depicted in the animated Disney film, "Pocahontas" as the main plot point.
