So, I've been REALLY getting into Night in the Woods lately. Like, REEEEEEEEALLY getting into it. My girlfriend, Rainbow, even bought me the game on the PS4 as an early birthday gift! So I've been playing the hell out of it. And I've got to say that, even though I ADORE Gregg SO MUCH, I'm coming to realize that I spend more time with Bea in the game than I do with Gregg. She's gruff on the outside, sure, but once you get past that she is just the sweetest most genuine lady; Yes, LADY; in the whole town. And good God do I connect with her!
There is this one scene later in the game (as spoiler free as I can give it) where the main 4 are face to face with the antagonist(s) and Bea gets SUPER intense for a moment. So I decided to draw up how I saw her in this scene, accompanied by what she said. This quote gave me CHILLS!
So, yeah. I'm not on "Team Gregg" or "Team Bea" or anything like that. Honestly, they are both fantastic people and I love them both in their own separate ways. To pick a "team" between them just feels wrong to me. They both have such great character development, and I can't help but care for.. well, all of them really. Even Angus had a touching moment that made me just wanna snuggle the big bear!

So, yeah, rant aside, Night in the Woods... 9/10. It's really simple but super fun, has some unique game mechinics, and has a little something for everyone! Are you a platformer? They got platforming sections. More of a rhythm gamer? Cool, there are band practices that play kind of like rockband. Or do you play games just for the stories? Plenty of different ways to play, plenty of people to get to know, and though the twist ending IS kind of... out of left field, in a Lovecraftian way... the story is touching, the characters are endearing, and they somehow made wondering up and down the same street for hours on end WORTH spending time and money on! I love this game, and I totally recommend it.

Bea is love. Bea is life. Bea is also. Prone to use a knife.

Wait, what?

Oh my god I loved this game so much. It's story was so very fun, sad, and moving all at once.

Bea was my favorite character, and my favorite line of her's was, "Not knowing how something worked used to seem like… magic. Now not knowing means it might be going wrong and I may not be able to fix it."

I like thqt line too, but it kinda hit me a tad close to home. Growing up too fast is something i had to do myself living in an abusive home, so i didnt get the magic of youth for very long...
