Felcarune are elementals that are a mix of 'fel'ine (cat), 'car'buncle, and kits'une' (fox). Maru is part of the fire subspecies, who usually excels in physical combat and are good at gliding with their arms.

Maru lives with his fraternal triplet sister and brother, Neyu and Kotu. He’s a high class chef that owns a successful restaurant known as ‘The Searing Hotpot’, known for cooking and serving up top quality meats. He's a very charming and devoted individual, especially towards cooking. He's very picky when it comes to the quality of food that is served in his restaurant, and anything less than his standards is rejected on the spot. Though cooking is his passion, his number one priority will always be the love he has for his family, despite his disdain for Neyu's energetic behavior. As much as he loves her, he'd never trust her to substitute for him as the supervisor of the restaurant due to her cooking and tasting palette being very abysmal (in his opinion). So Kotu will be the one to take his place during an emergency.
