Surging through the maze of trunks and branches, Lara escaped the Solarii raid. She managed to get one good bite into a guys ear before fleeing, afraid to fight back - he had a gun, what was she to do? Fires raged in the distance, Lara glanced back a moment to see the amber dancers through the trees. She let out a great scream as the ground beneath her vanished, Lara slid along the sodden ground, exploding into a surging stream forcing her deeper into the jungle. It was over quickly and Lara fell face first into a shallow pool, barely three feet deep. Ripples sounded an alarm to another waiting predator, one much more deadly than those of the Solarii; a twenty-three foot reticulated python. The intruder was not an uncommon sight to the great serpent. Decades of ancestry passed down recognised the lithe frame of a sacrifice. Instinctively, she homed in, stalking the prey to the small island and hissed with anticipation; this morsel would satiate her hunger and anger for several months.

Determined Lara assessed the scenario, she briefly pondered why she was so afraid of fighting back but she couldn't get her hands free after tackling the Russian cultist to the ground. She had to break the woven shackles, somehow...her thoughts were taken over when her legs felt tight. As she looked back, Lara saw the perpetrator wrapped around her legs and steadily working up her body with a mouth opened wide, a void from which many have never returned...
