To Lord Whitetail in the city of Bunnoppolis.
Salutations. I hope this letter finds you in good health and that your lands are bountiful and prosperous, may the gods always smile upon you and your people.
This correspondence has been sent to inform you that, while in the area, imperial scouts have sighted numerous fox raiders in the vicinity of Bunnoppolis and suspect that the villains may have foul intentions regarding your domain. The empire has every confidence in your soldier's willingness to defend the city they so faithfully guard even to the death, however, our most recent inspection of Bunnoppolis' defences found them severely unprepared to withstand against any major carnivore incursion. As a precaution to ensure the safety of your town's citizens you are hereby advised to double your guard and increase patrols. I do not need to remind you what a menace such vicious barbarians pose to the security and continued well-being of our people as well as our very way of life. Should any potential threat be detected near your borders it is your duty and the duty of your soldiers to apprehend the fiends and dispatch them as efficiently as the situation allows regardless of any affiliation the fiends in question might hold, be they peaceful or malcontent lest they one day threaten the stability of our entire great kingdom.
Signed,
George Freemont, Captain of his Majesties royal guard.
Mark finished reading the letter aloud then added, "Wow, that Captain sure is a windbag. I don't even know what 'malcontent' means, it sounds bad though."
"This sounds really important." Fang interjected. "If there are foxes near Bunnoppolis then Lord Whitetail ought to know."
"It's too bad the messenger who was supposed to deliver that letter won't be able to get it there himself," Brock observed as he patted his gurgling stomach, "he'll be too busy digesting."
"Yes it is too bad." Fang agreed, "A big town like that full of fat, juicy bunnies is sure to be a prime target for any predators in the area, especially if they're as vulnerable as the letter suggests."
"Why don't we just deliver the letter ourselves?" Val suggested "I bet they'll be so grateful that they'll even let us stay for dinner."
"That's a good idea Val," Larena said. "Bunnoppolis is just a few miles away after all, we'll just have to watch out for those vicious barbarians that the captain mentioned, we wouldn't want them 'menacing our borders or threatening our very way of life." she said the last part in a gruff baritone voice which she imagined would be a good impersonation of Captain Freemont.
Val smirked, "Vicious barbarians like the army we brought with us?" she gestured at the score of foxes marching behind them.
Larena returned her smirk "Yeah, like them."

Val's ear twitched as she heard the town bell ringing but only smiled. She would be amused to see what kind of protection the city had, she pictured a brigade of armour clad bunnies wielding sharpened wooden sticks and wetting themselves as they watched the raiders devour their friends and family. She jiggled the knob on the door of a small cottage but found it locked, she could hear crying coming from the inside though. A strong paw pushed her aside and Fang said in a gruff voice, "Out of the way." The larger fox reeled back and smashed his weight against the feeble wooden frame and the door burst open as the pair of foxes peered through into the dimly lit interior of the house to see a bunny housewife and her four children huddled in a corner, fear and panic plastered across all of their faces. Fang licked his lips and ducked to enter the low door frame. Val followed closely behind, "hello dinner" she snickered.
Inside the bell tower the bunny on duty pulled desperately on the rope as the bell rang loudly and its alarm echoed across the entire countryside. Suddenly the door to the tower burst open and Mark charged in and grabbed the bunny, his screams of fear were muffled as he was stuffed into the raider's mouth. When the bell stopped ringing the only sounds that replaced it were the screams of the villagers and the howls of the raiders as they chased their victims through the streets. As the surrounding countryside fell quiet something stirred in a cave high up on the nearby mountain.
Fang sat on the floor of the bunny's cottage patted his belly contentedly as the mother squirmed desperately inside. Val slurped in the toes of the last of the kits and rested her head on Fang's shoulder. The two rested comfortably next to each other enjoying the struggles of their meals and the sounds of the screaming prey coming from outside. Val was just drifting off to sleep when she felt Fang suddenly perk up. She looked up at her mate to see him looking alert, his ears perked up as though he were listening to something.
"What is it?" she asked sitting up next to him.
"What's that noise?" he asked. Now that she was listening for it Val could hear it too, a sound different from those of the battle raging in the city, a low whistling or whooshing sound repeating every few seconds. It sounded like the beating of an avian's wings mid-flight only much bigger and it seemed to be getting closer with each beat. Then Val noticed another odd sound.
"Fang," she said in alarm "listen to the shouting." The sounds of terrified screams coming from outside had never stopped but they had suddenly changed, they were no longer the screams of terrified, defenceless villagers. "Those aren't bunnies screaming." Val pointed out, her eyes growing wide with realization "Those are... foxes!"
Fang drew his sword. He had no idea what was happening but he was the king and if his raiders were in trouble it was his duty to protect them. Just then there was a thunderous crash and a deafening roar. As the two foxes ran from the cottage what they saw was worse than anything they had imagined. A gigantic, monstrous dragon had landed in the center of the town, black scales lined its back each one glittering in the afternoon sunlight like onyx while its belly shone a dark blue, numerous boney spikes jutted out from its skull in every direction, its wingspan must have easily stretched 50 feet, and its tail lashed around wildly as though it had a mind of its own. Perhaps most terrifying of all, two poofy, red tails were held between its teeth belonging to two hapless raiders. As Fang watched, the lizard threw its head back and the tails disappeared as two squirming bulges descended to their fate. Fang's eyes followed them all the way down until he noticed that under one great claw the dragon had another raider pinned, a fat fox who was crying out in pain and fear and looked as though he was about to be crushed under the dragon's weight, Brock! "Val, we have to save him" Fang shouted as he dashed toward the monster.
Many of the other raiders were already swarming around the monster either out of some heroic attempt to save their captured comrade or a stubborn endeavor to keep the town and all its bunnies for themselves. The dragon lunged forward and another vulpine disappeared between its teeth. The monster's thick tail lashed through the air catching another raider off guard, slamming into her. She went flying through the air and hit a brick wall. There was a sickening crunch of bones and her body collapsed to the ground where she lay motionless. "Fuck this!" one fox yelled as he threw his sword down and turned to run, another fox went to follow him but the dragon blew a fiery breath at the fleeing raiders, instantly incinerating them and leaving the smell of burning fur hanging thick in the air.
Some of the other foxes hung back, giving the creature a wide berth when they saw its ferocious display. Seeing a lull in the action the monster took the opportunity to lift the whimpering Brock into its forclaw and toss him straight up into the air. The poor fox's limbs flailed wildly as he flew, when he reached the apex of his ascent he hung perfectly still in midair for just a moment before the dragon's head lurched forward and its jaws snapped shut around him.
"NOOOO!" Fang and Val both cried as they charged forward at the beast. At the same moment another furious cry was heard as Larena leapt from a nearby rooftop where she had been hiding, waiting for her opportunity to strike. Larena's sword buried itself in the base of the dragon's skull as she landed on its neck, Fang jumped onto the scaled back and began to hack at the brute's spine as Val slid under the beast and slashed her blade across its belly. The beast howled ferociously at the attack, bucking and kicking, desperately trying to shake the three sharp swords loose. Many of the other foxes also dashed forward when they saw their king charge the beast but they were all batted away by the monster's wildly thrashing claws. Fang, Val, and Larena all held on for dear life as they were jostled every which way by the lizard's frenzy.
The dragon rolled over onto its back, hoping to pin the raiders underneath itself and Fang was forced to let go to avoid being crushed leaving his sword stuck in the monster's hide, Val pulled back just in time but Larena wasn't so quick and she felt the entire weight of the dragon crushing down on her. The dragon stood back up she was left heaving for breath as the scaled face loomed over her. The dragon lifted its massive claw above the helpless vixen and slammed it down. Larena gasped as she felt the monster's razor-like talon impale her chest, the massive spike piercing straight through her heart and out through her back. Blood bubbled from her mouth as her eyes glazed over in death. The dragon made a sound almost like a chuckled as it raised her dead body to its mouth and snapped her up.
A feral snarl of rage boomed out and the dragon's head turned to see Fang rushing the dragon again now completely unarmed, his hackles stood on end, his teeth and claws bared, a wild, berserk light of anger in his eyes as he jumped at the dragon's muzzle, clawing desperately at its eyes. The monster shook its head trying to dislodge the crazed fox but Fang held on like a vice. Val rushed in again to help but turned just in time to see the dragon's tail swinging through the air toward her head. She saw stars as the appendage collided with her and she flew head over heels and landed on her back. She felt something wet on the back of her head and when she touched her paw to the spot she drew it back covered in blood.
Fang's desperate attack had caught the dragon off guard but the lizard soon regained control. It threw its head up and opened its jaws. Fang clung desperately to the beast's nose but he realized that he had made a mistake when he felt his legs dangle into the warm, wet mouth, by that point there was nothing he could do though and his eyes widened in shock and pain as the dragon's sharp teeth snapped shut around his middle, cleaving him in half. Fang looked down to see that his body ended at his stomach, below that there was just a bloody stump.
Val looked up from where she had fallen just in time to see the dragon open its mouth again and slurp up the rest of Fang's body. Time seemed to freeze and at the same time it raced by. The rest of the battle was a blur, the raiders fought against the scaled beast but barely managed to annoy the creature as it crushed or burned or ate them all one by one, but Val didn't move, couldn't move from where she had fallen, rooted to the spot not with fear, or shock, or anger, only grief. Then as the dragon swallowed up the last of the raiders and gave a throaty burp it turned and locked its eyes on her.
Val didn't cry at first, even as the dragon had sniffed her. Even as the beast turned away and an entire platoon of armored bunnies encircled her and lowered their weapons at her she didn't try to fight them off. She remained stoic and silent as she was put in chains and escorted to the edge of the town where a crowd of bunnies had formed. She was placed alongside six other foxes who had also somehow survived the dragon's slaughter only to be captured by the villagers. Having lived with the clan for only a short while, Val didn't know any of them except for Ross, an older fox who was the clan's blacksmith and leatherworker. They were wrapped in so many heavy chains that they were barely able to move, yet the bunny soldiers still held them at swordpoint as they were made to kneel before the dragon. A fat, important looking bunny with a white tail stepped forward to address the dragon.
"The people of Bunnoppolis thank you and praise you for once again saving our city from the savage raiders. As per our agreement, a maiden from our village has been selected to serve as tribute to you, our town's champion in honor of your protection of our lands." A young female bunny stepped forward from the crowd and smiled up at the dragon as she curtsied. "In addition," the fat bunny continued, "to show our gratitude for your ever-vigilant guardianship, our militia have rounded up the remaining fiends who have survived the battle," he gestured toward the foxes "we offer them to you to do with as you will."
The dragon peacefully lowered his head down to a level with the female that had been presented, Val was stunned to see the monster that had viciously torn dozens of foxes to pieces only an hour ago now act so gently and lovingly with a bunny, she had expected the dragon to snap the girl up and then feast on the assembled bunnies just as he had the raiders. Maybe the dragon was full after his earlier meal, perhaps that's why he hadn't killed Val when he had had the chance but from the way the important bunny had talked Val guessed that they city knew the dragon well, why they would befriend themselves with a carnivore was beyond her.
The bunny girl climbed atop the dragon's head. Once she was safely in place the dragon grabbed three of the foxes in his teeth by the chains they were bound with and the other four in his talons before taking to the air. The foxes all whimpered in dismay as they were lifted hundreds of feet off the ground by the massive predator, the chains they were bound with weren't very tightly secured but they dared not wriggle free of them lest they fall to their deaths. All the while the bunny girl was enjoying the ride of her life, she whooped as she felt the wind whipping through her long ears and she looked down to see the ground far below her, the countryside laid out like a map. Weighed down as he was by so many mammals the dragon made slow but steady progress ascending the mountain, eventually coming to a huge cave hollowed out of the cliff side.
With a flutter of its massive wings the lizard set itself down on the rock floor of the cave, as soon as he hit the ground three other female bunnies who had been resting in the corner of the cave sat up and seeing their master return they ran to greet him. None of them wore even a scrap of clothes. The bunny who was ridding the dragon slipped off of his head to greet them. The foxes didn't get to hear any of the conversation thought as the dragon dragged them off to one corner of the cave where a small metal cage lay. The dragon opened the cage and threw the prisoners in, if the foxes weren't still bound with chains they might have made a rush for the exit before the dragon locked them in, as it was the beast had a moment to retch and choke, heaving a lump up his throat. For a moment Val thought he was going to burn them all with his fiery breath until a large, foul-smelling ball almost as large as any of the foxes of tattered leather armour, polished bones, and orange fur still dripping with gastric, caustic juices plopped onto the floor of the cage next to them. Once the dragon was free of the offending hairball it snatched two of the foxes from out of the cage, pulling the chains off of them before tossing them unceremoniously into his mouth. The survivors tried to block out the dying screams of their comrades but it was impossible as the beast slowly chewed them and then gulped them down before closing the door to the cage, locking them inside. The monster then turned back and rejoined the bunnies who had all been hanging back, not wanting to get too close to the foxes in the cage. The newest addition to the beasts harem was just shrugging out of her clothes as the lizard flopped onto his back and exposed his genitalia to them. The bunnies all cooed at the sight of the huge, spiked member and began to climb on top of the scaled creature as they pleasured him and the sounds of the dragon's happy groans filled the cave.
As Val unwrapped the chains from around herself she looked at the piled remains and thought how all that was left of Fang was tangled up somewhere inside, indistinguishable from the raiders who had once followed him even to their deaths. Val finally cried then. It all seemed so hopeless, her husband was dead, the only fox she had ever really cared about and she knew she would soon share the same fate at the murderous claws of the perverted dragon. Was this what it was like to be prey? She had captured so many herbivores for the clan and put them in cages just like this one while they awaited their execution, now Val understood how they had felt.
As she cried she didn't notice the other foxes gathering around her until Ross put his paw on her shoulder. "Lass, you've gotta hold onto hope." he said in his thick accent.
"Just leave me alone." she sobbed.
"We're still alive so, for the moment at least, there's still a chance." another fox added.
"Aye!" Ross agreed "And with our fearless leader I'm sure we'll think of some way to get out of this."
"Fang's dead," Val bawled as she said the words, "his fearlessness got him killed. He can't lead us anymore."
"I don't mean him," Ross corrected her, "I mean you."
"What?" Val looked up, her face dripping with tears.
"You were Fang's wife, now that he's gone you're next in line for the throne. Hail, Lady Valerie, queen of the Kalanthrine raiders." Ross knelt before her and the other foxes all joined in kneeling before the crying vixen. "Fang knew the responsibility that came with being a king and he did whatever it took to protect his people." he continued and if you're half the leader he was you'll be able to save all of our asses by thinking up a way outa this mess."
Val stood up and wiped the tears from her eyes, Ross was right, while they were alive there was still a hope but not if she couldn't pull herself together. "Alright," she said with only a hint of a tremble in her voice "alright." She looked around, surveying the cage and looking for any way out. The lock on the door was too high up for any of them to reach, maybe if one fox stood on another's shoulders. "Ross, how easily do you think you could pick that lock?"
"I've never seen anything like it before, m'lady." he replied. "I don't think I could get it open before that terrible beastie noticed we were up to something."
"Then what about the door hinges?" The hinges were much closer to the ground although they looked extremely heavy.
"If I had my tools with me I'd be able to work them loose in no time."
"Well, we haven't got any tools." Val pointed out, "Do you think you could use that?" She pointed at the regurgitated fox remains in the middle of the cage. Along with the mass of fur the dragon had also spat out the leather armor that the raiders had been wearing as they had gone down his throat. Most of the hard leather had been dissolved in the dragon's stomach but wire skeleton as well as a few plates that had held the armor together was still intact and in places the bent metal stuck out from the pile of fur at odd angles.
Ross grimaced as he realized what Val was suggesting. "Aye, I could put something together outa that, but it would take time, your majesty, and time is something we've got precious little of."
"That will have to do," Val tried to sound as reassuring as possible, "let's get to work."
It wasn't a pleasant task sifting through the hairball to pull out whatever metal they could manage and even some of the pointier bones, but once they were done they diligently followed Ross' direction as he showed them how to assemble the device. "Be careful with that wire Sam or you'll break it. Emily could you fit these pieces together. M'lady could you hold this here while I fold this around. They were making good progress and it was good for them to have something to focus on other than their imminent demise. As they worked though they heard the dragon roar with pleasure from across the cave. The foxes looked up to see the monster coating his bunnies in a layer of his thick seed as he climaxed. With his lust satisfied from the orgy the beast looked to the cage where his dinner was trapped intent on satisfying his hunger. The foxes quickly hid what they had been working on underneath what was left of the pile of fur as the monster approached them again. The dragon opened the door to the cage wide and prevented his prey from escaping by filling the doorway with his massive body. A moment ago the foxes would have given anything for the door to be opened, now that it was they would have given anything to have it closed again. The dragon loomed over them giving them a toothy grin as he snatched another two of them, snapping them up like popcorn before closing the door again. With his hunger sated for the time being the dragon lumbered over to the entrance of the cave and jumped into the air as he flew off.
Val and Ross had to double count to make certain they still had all their limbs but the third fox collapsed, she shivered and rocked back and forth as she cried. "Oh gods, it ate Timothy! That monster ate him!"
"Emily, was it?" Now it was Val's turn to be comforting to the distressed vixen, sitting beside her she wrapped her arm around the crying girl "Emily, I know..."
"He ate my brother." Emily bawled, "He killed him. Timothy's dead now."
"I know he did," Val embraced the sobbing girl "he killed my husband too. There's nothing we can do to help them now, but if we can get out of this cage we can make that dragon pay for what he's done."
"How?" Emily demanded "Even with a whole army of raiders we barely managed to hurt that brute."
"True," Val admitted "but he caught us by surprise then. Night is coming soon and if we can get out of here while the dragon is asleep..."
"...Then we gain the advantage!" Ross said in understanding.
Emily looked up from where she had been crying as she realized this too.
"Em, we are going to be okay. We are going to get out of here and get back to the clan and most importantly we are going to kill that fucking lizard, I promise. But first we have to finish Ross' device so we can get out of this cage." Val said earnestly.
With a nod from Emily they continued to work on the device. Without the other two foxes helping it was slower going than before but over the course of several hours it began to take shape until Ross finally announced, "It's finished." in a voice so astonished he sounded as though he couldn't believe it himself. His words were the most beautiful sound any of them could imagine but it was immediately followed by the most horrifying sound, the cage door opening. In their excitement to finish the device they hadn't noticed the dragon returning until he was practically inside the cage. The monster looked down hungrily at the three remaining foxes and licked his lips. Emily finally lost it and screamed as she tried to dash past the monster to freedom but was sent sprawling with one swipe of the dragon's claw. Ross and Val both rushed forward to grab her arms and help her up but at the same moment the dragons mouth opened and he engulfed the vixen's legs, sinking his long fangs into them. Emily cried out in pain as blood spurted out from around the dragon's sharp teeth.
"Hold on to her m'lady, we can still save her!" Ross shouted as he and Val pulled desperately on Emily's arms, but it was a tug-of-war that they were already loosing. The dragon was much more powerful and it slowly pulled his meal toward the door of the cage.
Emily turned her head to stare Val in the eye, a raging fire of anger burning in her expression "YOU PROMISED ME!" she shouted,"YOU SAID WE WOULD ESCAPE!" Val saw the hatred that the vixen had for her in that moment and knew that what she said was true. She felt defeat and her grasp on Emily's arm faltered for just a moment. It was all the dragon needed as he pulled the young fox out of Val's grasp and down his throat. Ross, who still held onto Emily's arm with an iron grip went tumbling into the dragon's maw after her. The monster greedily gulped both vulpines down and slammed the cage again leaving Val alone as he went back to his corner of the cave and laid down, his bunnies all laid around him. Val waited until she was sure he was asleep and soon she could hear the massive creature snoring. There was only one thing left for the lone fox to do now and she took the device from where it had fallen, fit in into the hinge of the door, and pulled. It was little more than a lever made from scrap to make lifting the heavy pin easier, Val would have had more success if there had been more foxes to help her pull but she was alone now and she would have to manage on her own.
The pin slowly lifted free of the hinge but the device was hastily built and tied together with bits of partially digested leather and it creaked in protest as it lifted its load before suddenly snapping in half with a loud cracking sound. Val landed on her face cursing as the lever suddenly gave way beneath her then cursed again as she held up her half of the lever to see that it had broken but as she turned and looked she saw that the pin had in fact come out just as the lever had broken, there was no way she would be able to get the pin out of the second pin now but at least the bottom half of the door was loose. She also saw that the dragon was still asleep despite the loud noise she had made. Val gave the door an experimental kick and it moved just enough that she might squeeze through. With a little wriggling and struggling Val just barely managed to squeeze her body through narrow gap. She knew that she would be unable to kill the dragon by herself, even if the beast was asleep, she would have to bring back more foxes if she wanted to take revenge on the lizard. Quickly she rushed over to the cave's exit where by the light of the moon she could see the steep and treacherous cliff that was her only path down the mountain. Val had done some climbing before but never anything like this, yet she had to try, it was her only hope. She was just about to start her way down when she heard a loud gurgle echo out from her belly and she suddenly remembered that she hadn't had anything to eat since the raid early that morning and after the exhausting day she had had she had no energy left. If she attempted to climb down the mountain without getting something to eat first she knew she would fall to her death. She wasn't keen on spending any more time in the dragon's cave but so long as the beast was asleep she would be safe. She scanned the cave and her eyes eventually settled on the four female bunnies who were snuggled up next to the dragon.
Val's mouth watered as she stuffed the first bunny down her throat, she had thought she would never taste the delightful meat of prey again and the stupid bunny didn't even wake up until she was deep inside the vixen's belly. The second one awoke as she felt the fox's warm breath on her face but was too late to do anything about it, her desperate struggles barely delayed Val as she slurped up the second morsel. The thrid bunny woke just as Val grabbed her and let out a shrill but brief cry just as she was pushed headfirst into Val's muzzle, unfortunately the prey's alarm was just enough to cause the last bunny to stir from her slumber. Val tried to gulp her prey down to make room for the last bunny who was now waking up but she couldn't get the squirming bulge down her neck fast enough and the last bunny let out a loud cry as she woke to find a fox standing over her, a pair of bunny's hind paws between her teeth.
"What are you doing?" a deep, thunderous voice asked, not in a shout of anger, but a simple question. Val turned to see that the dragon's large eyes were open and fixed on her. Val wasn't sure who had spoken at first, the dragon had not said one word all day and the fox had assumed that the beast was feral, but as the creature spoke again she saw its mouth move as it talked. "I said what are you doing?"
Val wasn't sure why he hadn't killed her yet but she gulped the rabbits feet down as she replied "What does it look like I'm doing you fucking overgrown iguana? I'm eating your little whores just like you ate my friends, my husband. I've been..."
"You eat bunnies?" the dragon interrupted, again not as a demand or an accusation only a sincere question.
"Yes, and I'll eat this one too if you move even one fat, stupid muscle." she warned as she grabbed the last surviving member of the dragon's harem who had started to cry, the only leverage she had over the monster. With one quick swipe of his claws though the dragon snatched the little bunny away from the fox, it happened so quickly that Val didn't realize it until after the bunny was gone.
"Oh, oh thank the gods. Thank you master." the bunny said between sobs, "I thought she was going to kill me. I thought..." Val was beginning to turn to make her way back to the mouth of the cave to make her escape, she doubted very much that she could beat the dragon down the mountainside but what happened next made her stop for a moment.
The bunny's cries of gratitude were cut off with a cry of fright as the dragon tossed the girl into his mouth. He didn't swallow her right away but rolled her around on his tongue for a moment testing her flavor. Once he had thoroughly tasted her his eyes lit up and he tilted his head back and gulped the screaming bunny down. Val didn't know if Ross or Emily were still alive inside the dragon's gut, but if they were they at least had a snack now. The next thing the dragon said seemed not to be addressed to Val but instead the beast thinking out loud to himself. "Bunnies are food!" he said in surprise, "They LIED TO ME!" his voice crescendoed to a roar that shook the entire mountain as he launched himself into the air and out of the cave. Val rushed to the cliff side where she watched the dragon diving down the mountain toward the city of Bunnoppolis in the first rays of the morning sunlight.

Val sat there for some time. She knew that she should be climbing to freedom but she couldn't understand why the dragon hadn't killed her even though it had had two opportunities now. She still didn't like her odds of making it down the steep incline even on a full belly and there was a chance that whatever the dragon's reason for keeping her alive would still apply once he returned. About an hour later Val noticed a thick column of smoke rising from the city below. Another hour passed before the dragon returned and landed next to the vixen with a flap of his huge wings.
"They're all dead" the dragon said without any other kind of greeting "I devoured as many as I could stomach and the rest burned in my fire." The dragon sounded more remorseful than angry.
"How is it that you didn't know that bunnies were edible?" Val asked "Everyone eats rabbits, even ferrets and they're barely even the same size."
"When I was a hatchling I was brought to this cave." the dragon explained "I don't remember any other life before it but I was told that I was to protect the settlement from carnivores. I was told that it was a mutually beneficial arrangement as carnivores were they only thing my body would be able to process as food and the settlement was constantly under threat from barbarians and raiders. I didn't even know what the carnivores ate until I saw you swallowing my harem."
"It's in the name," Val pointed out "carne vorare is Latin for flesh eater."
The dragon nodded. "Under my protection the small settlement eventually grew into a large city but soon the carnivores in the area began to move away, wary of my wrath. Sometimes months would go by between raids and I would have nothing to eat. Many times I nearly starved. Oh how I would long for the meat of a fat wolf, or a tasty wildcat, or a fresh fox, or..."
Val cleared her throat uncomfortably and scooted herself a few feet farther from the dragon.
"Right, sorry," he apologized "anyway, I never knew that the entire time there was an entire feast laid out just outside my cave. I protected them and they would have let me starve."
"So... are you going to... kill me now?" Val asked hesitantly.
"When I put you in the cage last night I heard the others call you queen and heard you mention a clan somewhere, that's why I let you escape, I thought if you could lead me back to your people I could have something to eat the next time I was hungry. I suppose there's no chance of that now so you are of no more use to me, but you did show me how the bunnies had cheated me and for that I am grateful, so I will spare your life, at least until the next time I am hungry."
"Don't be so sure." Val surprised him, "I'll show you right where the clan is and you can have all the foxes you can eat. And in case you haven't noticed, your bunny harem is gone. I'd be able to help you satisfy your other needs."
The dragon gave her a sideways glance, "As the queen, is it not your duty to protect your people?"
"The foxes of the clan are not my people." Val stated bluntly. "There was only one fox who I ever cared about and you killed him. I'm not a queen, I'm a survivor, and if survival means turning over my clan to a fire-breathing lizard then so be it."
*******
"DRAGON!"
The guard barely got the warning out before a gigantic pair of teeth closed around him. The clan sprang to life, raiders ran for the armory to get whatever weapons they could carry but were confused when they reached the building to find the door locked. "Where's the key?" one called.
"Where's the key?"
"WHERE'S THE KEY?!"
Val walked along one of the raised platforms that overlooked the prey cages twirling a key ring and watching the chaos unfold below. The dragon quickly gulped down the raiders gathered around the armory then blew a puff of fiery breath and set the whole building ablaze. Val 'accidentally' knocked into a guard sending him toppling over the railing and plummeting into the fire below, then she noticed another fox on the platform firing arrows down at the monster. She ran towards him but stopped when she saw who it was.
"Mark?"
"Val? Oh my gods, you're alive. I saw you fighting that dragon I thought you were going to be killed for sure."
"How did you make it out of Bunnoppolis?" Val asked. As far as she knew all of the foxes who had been in the raid were either killed by the dragon in the initial battle or in the dragon's cage with her after they had been captured.
"When I saw that sky lizard coming at me I tore my ass out of there, good thing too or I would have gotten myself killed just like everyone else." the raider explained as he lined up another shot at the dragon.
"You mean you ran?" Val said in disdain, "While we were all fighting for our lives you ran away and left us to die?"
"I'm sorry, alright." Mark spat as he let another arrow fly, the shaft glancing harmlessly off the reptile's hard scales. "But you made it out alright and now the dragon's back, we have to kill it."
"You know, I've always hated you, Mark." Val sneered, "You're clumsy in battle, you can't take orders, and you're a coward to boot."
Mark sighed, "Look can we maybe have this conversation when we're not fighting for our- OOOMMPH!" Mark had the wind knocked out of him as Val barreled into him from behind and he fell through the railing and off of the platform. Beneath him Val's new friend open his maw wide and the deserter fox tumbled in headfirst.
The dragon made short work of the rest of the foxes, swallowing them down one after the other until Val was the only one remaining. She rejoined him on the ground and the monster rolled over to show his large gut still squirming with the many raiders he had eaten. Val climbed up on top of his scaled belly and began to massage him with her soft paws, helping him to digest his ornery meal. Once the squirming on the other side of the scales had subsided Val slipped lower down the dragons body until she felt his erect cock between her legs. She had never felt anything so large inside of her before and she moaned in pleasure as she rode the beast to a climax. Afterward she laid down on top of his warm belly, listening to the sounds of digestion coming from within.
"That was a marvelous meal Val," the dragon said, "but remember our agreement. You're only safe for as long as you keep me well fed. You'd better start thinking of who you're going to feed to me next."
"Well how about them?" Val suggested.
The dragon looked to where she was pointing and saw the caged where the raiders had kept their prey of which there were still plenty. They had been hoping that they might be ignored about until the dragon and his consort left but that hope was forgotten as the dragon looked their way and licked his lips.

"I've got you now little fox." the wolf said in triumph as he back the vixen up against a tree. He felt his tail bristled in excitement and he smoothed his fur back down with one paw while keeping his eyes locked on his quarry. The wolf was surprised to see that the fox didn't seem afraid, instead she had a big smile plastered across her face. Maybe she got off on being prey, or maybe she was just dim, either way she would taste just the same to the hungry lupine. "It's lucky I found you, fox is my favorite meal." he continued, "I'm going to enjoy eating you although maybe I'll have some fun with you first, enjoy a little personal time." He felt his tail bristle out again and he smoothed it again.
"Oh you'll be having plenty of fun, not with me though." the fox said with a little chuckle.
The wolf's smile fell as he heard this "What do you mean? With who?" The vixen pointed behind him and the wolf turned to see that his fur hadn't been rising with excitement as he had thought, instead a huge dragon was licking his tail. The wolf's eyes widened but as soon as he saw the dragon his tail was caught up in the lizard's teeth and the wolf screamed in pain and fear as he was lifted into the air by his tail. The dragon quickly slurped the wolf into his muzzle and the canine's howls were cut off by a loud crunch.
Val leaned back against the tree as she watched the dragon enjoy his dinner. The dragon took a minute to savor the wolf before gulping him down and licking his lips. "Did you enjoy your dinner, baby?" she asked.
"Yum, you always catch the most delicious prey." came the response, "Maybe I won't have to eat you some day after all."
"Glad to hear it lizard boy, now do me a favor and fuck me hard." Val demanded as she took off her armor, "Seeing you eat that wolf got me all riled up."
"You must have read my mind." the dragon said as he got into position on top of her.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I've been thinking I might go back and change Val to a different species to make it more obvious that she doesn't belong to the clan
