They ate all the monsters at a nearby ruin, but then the ground gave in and Kalani got stuck in a hole. Anaiah managed to pull her out, but the impetus of Kalani's full belly propelled her onto Anaiah's own bulge. At least that cushioned the impact.
(yes, Kalani is a foxtaur...)

Anaiah and Kalani may get on each other's nerves. But they can count on helping each other out in dire circumstances.

It's more like friendly banter. They've spend a lot of time together in a witch coven where they got their magic belly abilities from. You could say they went to high-school together.
