The Spider Queen struck a deal with the Rabbit and Butterfly(less so with the red-bird I suppose), as long as they serve and take care of her, she won't eat them.
Problem is that the poor girls never got any of that in writing...

And they got a little too close during lunch-time...

Rabbit had such a bad conscious after serving her friend, so she'd actually quite happy to be able to make up in the stomach.
