Return of Singularity Jain - Chapter 10d
The darkened sky of Portland was illuminated by stark blasts of green light as Jessica Cruz brought her power to bare, unleashing giant green insects, animals, and photonic blasts in vicious combination with her current partner Zenobia at the umbral demonic alien lawyer, who was currently infused with the combined power of over a dozen lanterns, including a considerable number of the corps best. Before it would take only 2 lanterns with sufficient fortune, willpower and skill to take her down. Now though, it would take the combined efforts of several corps, or even some of the stronger agents of the universe to even match her level of power in a brute force engagement. Something that Jessica knew, but was still burning beyond her reasonable will power maximum. However it was becoming very clear that the dark green barrier of Jain was far stronger than any of the others foes she had faced in the past had been. Worse still, was Jain was clearly toying with them, attacking with building crushing strikes that were always narrowly dodged or barely blocked. Eventually she seemed to tire of drawing out the engagement, and unleashed a massive wave of dark green force, slamming into both of them and tossing them into the streets below. A testament to her power.
Jain silently landed and walked calmly over to the 2 battered lanterns. Jessica desperately trying to stand, with Zenobia dragged herself to her feet, her hand gripping a green police baton. “Your still standing, miss Zenobia. An impressive testament to your fortitude and endurance. You should be very proud.” Jain clapped her hands as she smiled a predatory grin. “Still, I have been most discourteous in my dealings with you. I have been playing lanterns with you for so long, I forgot to give you a reward for making this hunt a truly enjoyable experience.” She began to concentrate and grinned as an umbral green ring materialised in her palm. Moving incredibly fast, she easily pinned Zenobia and pressed her ring against hers. The dark ring began its work immediately as Zenobia struggled against her a moment, then as Jain watched with triumphant glee, as a dark mass began to creep over her, her olive skin overtaken by a pure black mass that began to turn bone white as it Crept up around her. In a few moments, the dreadful visage of Jain's mouth closed around her head, the ring on the dark copies hand turned a dark green, as she smiled and walked over to the original, who had vanished away her clothing, and allowed her belly to swell out once again. Jessica managed to drag herself to her knees before, the pair started to kiss, mouths locked together, as the original made several fluid gulps, drawing the young Zenobia down her gullet, as her belly swelled to accommodate the lanterns added mass. Jessica could only stare in horror as Jain licked her black glossy lips, released a belch and a near orgasmic sigh. “Such a tasty family. the perfect blend of emotional flavours.” She tilted her head towards Jessica “well now what to do with you… In a way, I have more than recouped my losses from my last investment in your affairs. However, a client is still a client, and a breach of my trust like you pulled must face an appropriately painful response.” With a flick of her wrist, Jessica was bound head to foot in dark green chains. The sound of echoing footsteps approached as the form of another person. Carrying Sarah and the 2 unconscious heroes from earlier was Power Princess, the marks of Jains corruption taking clear root upon her face. Her eyes vacant, without that spark or shimmer. Soulless eyes.
Off in the distance, another battle had moved from air to the ground. Hard. Chess rebounding quickly and hid among the cloud of dust smoke and debris. The corrupted Diana coughed and rose to her feet, scanning through the Clouds of dust and smoke. Chess moved to circle with incredible speed. Diana however was still supernaturally fast. Grabbing a steel bar from the rubble, she swung the improvised club at an intercepting trajectory. Chess narrowly avoided the potentially decapitating blow, the dust filled air cut in twain as chess fired a flash of green energy that struck Diana in the head from behind. Unable to sense the blast in time, the impact sent her forward, knocking her off balance. Chess moved quickly, as the demonic Diana lashed out with her tail, grabbing it in 2 hands and using her other pair to grab the corrupted heroes shoulders, unleashing a pouncing tackle that placed chess in the perfect spot for a strike. Chess manoeuvred her abdomen and stinger and struck, injecting a small amount of highly paralytic venom into Diana's leg. As she was thrown, the alien lantern landing in a slide and keeping her eyes on her. As Diana moved to close, Chess saw the venom kicking in. Her enemies form lurching with less grace, her strikes more easily dodged. Her body was resisting it, but she realised this was potential equaliser. Her body had been slowed, her movements to attack would tire her out if she was not careful. Chess could read the expressions of her opponent and timed her next strike perfectly. Another strike from Diana, another miss and venom shot, making her even slower. Diana was falling behind. Chess was gaining confidence. Her enemy was flagging, fearful and a few more strikes would end the threat she posed. She darted forward, ready to end this. As the bug girl moved to strike, a layer of black energy coated Diana's arm. Realising too late, the lantern was drawn into the clothesline. She was thrown back, the shock of pain coursing through her body. Diana wasted no motion or second of time she was bought by this, and pounced. Her body slammed into Chess as she pinned the insect like humanoid to the ground. Tail wrapping around the stinger and keeping it away. Arms pinning her down. Then came the blows to the head, a look of sadistic glee showing on Diana face as she struck her over and over with her skull. Chess was in bad shape, but she had one last trick up her sleeve. As Diana prepared to unleash the hardest of her head butts, chess fired a point blank blast with her ring. Not enough to kill, but enough to stun her for a split second. Her grip on her arms weakened enabling her to grab her torso. As the corrupted hero squirmed against her, chess activated her ring. A chrysalis of green energy wrapped around the pair as chess grinned at the confused Diana. “You were right about me being a part of you. Just not quite in the way you expected.” With a solid stab of her stinger, a unique chemical cocktail was released into Diana's body. Watching herself start to liquefy along with Chess, the pair melting into each other, as both minds and bodies merged as well. As chess faded into oblivion, she prayed for the safety of her mentor, partner, and friend.
Jessica struggled against the chains binding her, trying to do more than watch as Jain loudly swallowed down the 2 other unconscious superheroes, her throat bulging as their bodies disappeared into her. The dark copy of Jain casually disrobing her sister right in front of her, smiling and running her pale fingers over her tan skin and modest breasts and curves as she did so. “5 years. Locked away inside that singularity of yours. The one I had given to you to find yourself. A cruel irony. My gift to you became my prison. How the tables have turned once again.” Jessica ignored her, her ring doing its best to slice through the chains. Jain gave a moist belch and sighed. “Well then, what to do. I could just gobble you up, like some big bad wolf from the old little red riding hood stories. Of course…”, giving her bloated belly a pat, “those stories did not end well for little red riding hood.” She walked over, pressing her belly into Jessica, letting her feel the numerous souls contained within, her sickly moist breath against her skin, as she ran her tongue up Jessica face. “So very tempting. But I have a better idea.” She pulled away, Jain's doppelgänger pressing her hips against the corrupted Power princess. Her skin turning jet black as she bent over at the Doppelganger touch, as inch by inch she was pulled into its body, with no reaction as her face disappeared into the darkness and absorbed. A sigh came from its lips, as the original Jain moved towards Sarah. Jessica increased her output. Her ring carving through the chains as Jain reached out towards her sister. The Doppelganger had noticed and was moving to try and pacify her. Jessica did not care. She was burning with a passion and will running at nearly triple its normal limits. In a blinding flash of green, she launched the Doppelganger into Jain's back, sending both of them into a heap. A brand of green formed around her eye as she darted forward to reach for Sarah. To get her away from Jain and meet up with Chess. Jain recovered quicker than she expected, merging with her Doppleganger and moved to intercept. A powerful series of blows were exchanged as Jain felt a sudden but tangible loss of power. Jessica prepared to strike the major blow, but suddenly, with a gesture, Sarah blocked her approach. Hesitating for a moment, Jain struck, launching her with a 2 handed blow to the gut. The lantern demolished the remains of several buildings before making her final impact.
Pain was burning through Jessica as she struggled to pull herself up. The remains of her apartment scattered in all directions. Clothes of all kinds displaced from her stores as she collapsed in a heap. Several ribs were bruised and she struggled to move as Jain appeared before her once again. Like a waking nightmare now coming to pass. “You were so close. But in this life, the only rewards go to the victors.” Jessica tried to rise again and collapsed. “Well, miss Cruz, any last words to your sister?” Jessica tried to reach out but the pain in her chest robbed her of her words. “Very well then.” As Jain opened her mouth. Jessica had been through this nightmare numerous times. But nothing could prepare her for the real thing. Jain's mouth engulfed Sarah's head, and the sensation of moisture awoke her. The sound of her screaming, pleading and begging were barely muffled by Jain's skin as the sadistic predator forced her deeper with the first swallow, taking her time to taste every inch of her sisters body, playing with her breasts with her tongue and swallowing again. Jain’s muffled moans did not do anything for Jessica as she was forced to watch her sister being violated and devoured alive. After a few last swallows that felt like minutes had passed between, the bulge of her sister joined the others. Picking up one of Sarah's track suit shirts, she daubed her lips like it was a napkin. She sighed as Jessica made it to her feet, legs shaking, ring glowing with green fire. “Up for one last round. Very well.” Jain disappeared her own ring as she stood still, smiling as Jessica’s ring glowed brighter and brighter. “Your feeling it again. Like it was in the woods. Only this one is stronger. More directly personal.” Jessica poured every last drop of her will power into this attack, as she fired a massive burst of green light. Jain opened her mouth and inhaled. The beam was caught in the vortex and vanished like a green serpent down Jain's throat. The ring sputtered and grew dark. “Well well well. Looks like your finally all out of juice. And thanks to a little parting gift, so are the rest of the lanterns.” Jessica was confused until she heard it. Baz. The guardians. Every soul and lantern on Oa was crying out in pain, anger and suffering. All from resonating Jain's stomach. Jain smiled with sadistic triumph, patting her stomach. “No more virtuous lanterns left to stop me. And no more people to save you.” She grabbed Jessica by the neck as her uniform returned to civilian clothes. With a single free hand she ripped Jessica's clothes from her body. “Now, to finally fulfill your final part in the contract we made years ago.” Jain opened her mouth wide once again. Her throat becoming a tunnel into the darkness, as Jessica could only cry out for a moment as Jain engulfed her head. Saliva running in black rivulets down the lanterns body. The dark tongue tasting every part of her being, savouring the flavours of despair and suffering unique to Jessica, along with her skin. Teasing her breasts and her vagina as she passed, Jain tilted her head up slightly, her throat bulging as more of her prey slid closer into her rightful place. Thighs, then legs, before finally the feet of Jessica Cruz vanished from the world with a snap of the victorious Jain's jaws.
Jessica tumbled into the moist, caustic darkness of Jains stomach. Her gaze dimly aware of the infinite blackness that surrounded her, and yet she was still herself. Her ring was still active, but only a shallow glow, enough to keep her alive, but little else in this voice. As she maneuvered in the darkness, her hands came across a ring, one she recognised. Zenobia’s. She looked beyond and saw it. The mass of captive rings, a testament to the lantern bodycount of Jains revenge. Jessica thought to the sounds she had heard from within jain’s gut. The moaning and suffering they were all going through. And now jain had her, they were likely to become little more than cellulite or mass adding to her body along with everyone else. The darkness was moving already, her skin starting to burn as it pressed against her barrier. Her mind turned back to her first engagement. How close had she been to really hurting her back then. A single ring on full burn, nearly hurting her foe immensely. A thought came to her. The links. The power from combining the power of 2 rings had helped her immensely before. What about a thousand or a million. She knew she had little time, her body was not going to last, and the strain alone might kill her. There was no guarantee of success either. But compared with letting the monster have its way with her friends, family, and companions...her life was hardly worth a thing. “In brightest day. In blackest night. No evil shall escape my sight.”, the lights surrounding jessica began to glow, even as her body started to errode, her skin dissolving against the shadowy juices. ”Let those who worship evil’s might…” the glow was growing larger, but even so her body was giving out. “Beware my...power.” the glow was nearly that of a green sun, but the life was fading from her eyes. Her body was submerged beneath the shadows, her lungs releasing a last gasp of words.”Green...lanterns ...Light.” Jessica's consciousness faded into the darkness, but her ring released a green blast that burned hotter and brighter than the brightest star in that moment.
It was strangely quiet as Jain sent the last human lantern down her throat to join her sister in her belly. Jain licking her lips for several minutes, immensely satisfied with her revenge finally being completed. Her pale hands massaged the pale surface of the sphere, marvelling in the chorus of moans and gurgles now coming from within. With a truly thunderous noise, Jain's belch echoed and resonated across the near empty crumbling cityscape of Portland. “UUUUUAAAAAAAARRRRRK!” In an almost contrasting fashion the massive burp, Jain picked up the tracksuit top and wiped her mouth with it. The lawyer began to laugh. And sighed as she patted her tummy, which expanded outward as she let her limits go a little. “Mmm...yes. A delicious feast that more than makes up for the years of imprisonment” A loud chorus of churns and gurgles began, along with a hedonistic rush of pleasure as Jain finalised her revenge. Suddenly she keeled over and gasped. Pain. Unbelievable pain was flowing through her. It was like a Billion suns were exploding inside her all at once. The Energy was too much. She Had no Idea what was happening, but she knew the cause. “The rings. But that's impossible. They were unconnected from their bearers. I made sure of...GAHHHHH!!!!!” the fire was burning her from within. No matter how hard she tried to absorb their light, the rings were unable for her to contain. With a massive scream, she was forced open from within. Her prey were released from her, bodies naked, unconscious, but alive. She tried to hold on to something. Anything, but the tide was so strong she couldn't it's outward flow. with a final retch, the body of Jessica Cruz slid from her lips, burned and eroded by acids. She collapsed. Panting, humiliation, fear, and weakness. As the heroes stirred there was little she could do but flee. Space folded and the sun burned through the dome of shadows.
----1 month later----
Jessica Cruz lay in a hospital bed. The sterile area was tinged with the scent of lemon. Sarah sat by her side, cutting up some fruit for her. Jessica had been adjusting to life without the ability to use her ring. It was not because it was broken, just the strain of so many rings linked at once had caused them to short out. Like a fuse given too many amps at once. She understood the analogy, but it didn't change her situation. Her body was in a state that made Baz's look like a sprained wrist. Multiple fractures, damage to the lungs and cardiovascular system, and her body partially digested and absorbed. Even though she was getting that fixed, her lantern days would need to wait. "Sorry your stuck in here and not able to see a good film with me." Sarah said, offering her sister a forked banana slice. Jessica smiled and ate the piece. "Its okay. Is Diana doing okay?" Sarah speared an Apple slice. "According to watchtower personal… she is needing Dr Fate to perform the magical separation. If we are lucky, Chess comes back as well, but till then, zenobia is baz's partner. Because you need some rest." Jessica nodded, chewing the Apple slice. "Jain's still out there. But we will get her someday." Lying back, she closed her eyes and let peaceful sleep take her.
In a small back alley legal office, former Psychiatrist Harleen Quinzel nervously tapped her feet against the floor. She knew that ‘her puddin’ would raise hell for this, but she couldn’t help it. Over the past few months, she had been pushed against and beyond her limits. The clock ticked. The fan whirred. A train shuttered past. It was quiet. She began twiddling her thumbs, before a small buzzer went off. She rose and entered the dark room. “Hello. Is this the office of Miss Jain Singular?” a female voice, calm, resonant, intelligent answered. “Take a seat, miss.” the chair was warm, as harley absorbed as much detail as she could from her surroundings. The office was quite plain. The kind of dusty office most people would expect from a new practitioner of law within such a place as gotham. A pale woman with Silver hair and a business suit, only just holding in her massive breasts. Harley Swallowed nervously. The pale woman smiled. “So then. What is the problem Miss Quinzel.” Harley felt her gaze caught into the v of the lawyers chest. “Well, miss Jain. It's my Puddin’. He has been so vicious and cruel and I need some help to get him to stop.” Jain sighed. “I thought as much. It sounds like your ‘puddin’ is quite the abuser. And no matter how hard you try to please him, he keeps on hurting you. Do You have any friends you can stay with?” Harley nodded. “Yes. Pammy has an apartment i can stay in. but I don't know if I have the money to pay you.” Jain smiled widely “that's quite alright, Miss Quinzel. I can understand your situation and can waive the fee for this case.” a low rumble came from the lawyers stomach. “In exchange, I will ask a favour from you and your Friend. One that i insist you follow. Do we have a deal?” Harley reached out a hand. Jain took it. “Do not worry. Once I have concluded my business with your ‘puddin’, he won’t hurt you, or anyone else ever again.”
