Using a secret technique was able to super charge her stomach to allow it to easily digest anything and with no waste, adding everything she ate to her form.
However, she didn't read the warnings and so didn't know to limit the technique causing her stomach to constantly require being filled or it would start to digest itself.
As she was turned by her hunger into a true Queen of Gluttony it was learned that chakra and high chakra infused objects (and people) offered an multiplicative rather than additive expansion to her form.
Her form continued to expand has she continued to feed the monster within and before she knew it, her old home was in hand about to enter its new home.
(How her underwear grew with her was a mystery to her however)
