My friends and I are planning on holding a 5th Edition DnD session in the future. I looked at the new races and the mechanical Warforged caught my eye. They’re from the Eberron expansion, and in short the Warforged are “decommissioned” sentient war machines. They’re self aware and sentient creatures who posses individual souls and personalities who were created for the war effort. After some time the conflict stopped and the Warforged had to find the new purpose to their lives. How do you adapt to the warless world if the sole purpose behind your existence was to be living weapon of destruction? I enjoy the lore behind them quite a lot so I decided to make this character. The idea I had for her is that she used to be a diplomatic envoy and emissary, tasked in negotiating treatises and release conditions of war prisoners from the enemy forces. Her main skills would be persuasion and sharp silver tongue. I wanted her body to include reassuring feminine shapes and grotesque sharp and pointed limbs at the same time. She was made that way in order to create visual confusion in the eyes of her foes and drive the point across that she’s not to be trifled with even if her main job was simply that of a delegate. She would be accompanied by a small group of equally intimidating Warforged who would help protect her and carry out other necessary tasks if needs be. That is why there was no need to include hands and other such appendages made for delicate manipulation; she’d simply have others to help her out with such tasks. Now that the war if long over, The Emissary wanders the planes offering her services to bickering nobles and ruling factions, serving as the eye-catching mediator for anyone who’s willing to pay more.

Here’s one of the vids explaining their race in more detail! They’re really interesting and offer a lot of fun possibilities for interactions! https://youtu.be/wyCWwgDEMsk

She's very interesting... I suppose she would be a 'monk' class and needs help with armor, robes, and clothing?

Hope to see stories of you and your friends' 5th edition session ^^ I want to see more of this character... does she have a name yet?

Most info can be read on the wiki. Warforged don't really have "names" per say, more so job designations or codes like "Beta blue four" or "The Slicer" or other assorted random words they might like the sound of. Her name would be simply The Emissary. And the Warforged bodies' have integrated armor. During resting they can recalibrate their armor from small to medium to heavy. Because they can't take it off, or use any other armor at all, being a monk is quite impossible to them without having a lot of negative effects because they technically always have armor on, which negates most of monks' perks and feats. I was thinking more of a bard class. http://dnd5e.wikidot.com/warforged-ua

Bard class uh?... that'd be interesting, can't wait to see how you come up with having her as a bard ^^
