“Mother! Mother, wake up!”




The aged woman stirred and blinked slowly, the anxious voice interrupting whatever dream that she was having at that moment. A bearded man stood over her.




She finally opened her eyes, then looked at him, and back at the window. It was still dark outside, with only the faintest rays of sunlight peeking out.

Holly hummed her favorite song to herself as her car trundled down the road. This was a familiar road to her that she had driven on many times before; now, as always, she was taking it to visit her friends in the city. Today, she was wearing an outfit she considered casual but mildly sexy; black boots, distressed denim shorts, and a loose blue college t-shirt. It was a rather long drive, but one that she had taken enough times that she felt perfectly comfortable doing it on her own.
