After Vaporeon escaped the humid and dark prison. She pounces on her Minty trainer, devouring her on the spot feet first. If Mint will be let out is a good question.

Lost for good, caught by another trainer with Mint still squirming in intestines, put into PC storage and held in stasis until the end of time because the trainer just wanted to get a vaporeon for their pokedex.

I'd say lost for good, then the Vaporeon gets cought by another trainer who shoes the vaporeons PokeBall up her ass, and then the trainer gets eaten by another pokemon.
