Spoilers, the character named after the slasher genre's original Final Girl ends up being the Final Koopa. Who'd have seen it coming? Typically in a slasher film you'll have the final girl come upon the remains of the other victims and dispatch the slasher through her own gumption. I went with more of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibe with the ending: he doesn't actually triumph, he simply escapes, broken by the events forevermore. Will he return to be unceremoniously eaten off in the sequel? Only time will tell.
