In a liminal space along the borderlands of any given area, on auspicious nights when the season changes, the leaves die and the air grows wet and cold... one may receive an invitation to explore and spend the night in the Manor Macabre from its mysterious host.

The offer is simple, simply stay one night and you shall be rewarded--- be it permanent residency amongst the manor or some other manner of great fortune. The Manor itself is full the brim with wonders and treasures from all over, a true treat.

However, none who take the invitation return or rather... all have opted for 'permanent residency'... and yet every year the manor appears once more to lure in more and more daring adventurer's to its predatory maw...

For in the Manor itself, those who venture inside unwittingly choose their on fates from whatever they deem touch-- as it results in a misfortunate end.

---
For some, many try many a means to leave the Manor once the the night is underway. Afterall, why not simply leave the Haunted House or the building the killer is in, one genre saavy might say. But the Manor Macabre is nothing if not cunning. For once, its quarry is in its clutches they never escape. Enticing, like a Honeypot is the Conservatory or Greenhouse which for many see as a potential escape route. The glass walls and proximity to the estate's boundaries makes it a logical choice to try and break away and to freedom. However--- regardless their beds were made regardless the moment they accepted the Manor's invitation.

Like the horrors and man-eating plants it houses, the Conservatory is like a honey-trap luring those who believe themselves cunning or try to push the boundaries... luring them to their doom. From spines that results in gradual petrification, to collossal vespids that use live victims as nurseries for their offspring to other botanical horrors and wonders...

And with that, the Manor Macabre receives even more permanent residents. For they made their bed when they accepted its invitation... and now they are nothing but seed beds.

I love that see through plant vine.
I don't see cooking anywhere, am I blind?

When I was making the tags at 1AM last night it autocorrected cocooning as cooking. I just didn't notice it in time.

Ah, makes sense. I have that particular tag as blacklisted. Glad I decided to check this piece anyway in that case.

Honestly the one thing I want to see most in this series is like, a final 'aftermath' picture where we see the end results of everyones fates(or at least a continuation of them), though I understand that some of them are a bit gruesome to show.

But gosh, each one of these has left me dying to see the scene continue a bit further.

That'd be a nice thing to see as well, I agree.

There will be a final 'aftermath' image for the current series, yes!

Yes! On a related topic, how many parts do you intend for this series to have?

Because with three parts in and the number of characters growing by one every image so far it feels like there can't be too many left, and it's already quite a few characters, fates, and scenes to cover in just one image.

So if you do continue, it's hard to imagine how said Aftermath will touch on all, or even most of them.

For this current set... two more, w/ Aftermath.

As for the aftermath image me and  Gregole have had the final image in mind for a while, its a bit simple out of out of the left field but I think compliments the whole series.

Well, I'll just cross my fingers it's not a 'everyone is saved' or 'it was all pretend' ending and be ready to accept if it is.

(I mean, there are ways of doing that last one I'd absolutely still quite enjoy regardless, but that's besides the point)

... and I notice you've been saying 'this current set'... does that mean you intend to do more of this? (she said, hopeful)

I assure you, the Manor Macabre does not abide by the 'everyone is saved' ending.

As for the current set, I'm leaving it open for future rooms or endeavors if my collab partner and I want to, but nothing is planned solidly yet.

Then I'm so excited to see where this goes. Honestly it makes me want to once again try my hands at making a Quest Game.

If I went to that manor I would just a-pose by the entrance and never move for the remainder of the night.
