Sometimes it takes some time for Marche to find a method to take down his opponents. Thieves especially are among his trickiest of targets. Their common guile and cunning make his attempts to persuade and fool shallower and their natural speed and dexterity can make them hard to catch. Thus, when he heard of a gang of thieves cutting purses in a town of merchants, he knew he'd need to employ his own wit and mind to best them.

He met one of them in public and allowed them to use their 'Pickpocket' skills on him, pretending to not realise and hiding his anger. Then he met them and used some of his own loot to claim he was a thief like they were. He made himself an asset to their little cause, becoming a distraction so they could rob the common folk, an act he hated every second of.

But in the end, it all came to a head when Marche learned of their plot to split up and rob three rich estates in one night. He headed them off one by one and swallowed the first right out of her hiding spot in the rafters, getting the second one when she tried to dive out of the palace window into a lake, only for him to be waiting there, jaws agape.

The final thief he cornered on the route to their hideout, using his girth from his previous two meals to press her into the wall, rendering the cat eared crook helpless. Now he can indulge himself a little bit before he sends her down to join her comrades and mark up another gang of petty thieves as mere padding on his body.

And repay all those poor shopkeepers he had to fool.
