It happened every single time she bought the cut-price tinies. You'd think she'd have learnt by now, but nope, she always got dragged back by the special offers. Every few months she found herself here, sure as clockwork - and they always skimped on the pacification!

Sure, you might get one or two who were properly zombified, but the rest... half the pack tries to escape, and you end up chewing down a wriggly shouty one, and that always felt kinda wrong. Not wrong enough to stop doing it, mind you, but just kind of rude. The worst thing was knowing, even as she struggled, that she'd be doing it all over again when the memory faded and she saw a sale.
