Marian and Magic
 
In this world, magic is a mixture of some kind of science and alchemy.
 
People could perform an irrational phenomenon using knowledge, emotions, mana, and they called it the magic.
 
People who were born with one of 'talent at gaining magical knowledge', 'born with irrational emotions that allows you to understand the principle of magic, or 'born with tremendous amount of mana' were called the talented.
 
You cannot perform the magic if you did not reach enough of any of those three, and were called the normies.
 
Now I will explain the three talents of magic.
 
The knowledge is a theoretical one which is similar to what we people on the Earth call the science.
 
The magical emotion is a field of feminity by its essence, and therefore only(mostly) females were born with this trait.
 
For the similar reason of above emotion, male were born with almost no mana, or they could not exploit mana even if they were born with some, but they could still perform a limited use of magic using knowledges and magical items that borrows you mana.
 
In fact, the performance of magic is totally of the selected few female's field, and only some clever males could help to expand the knowledge and deepen the analysis of magic.
 
By the overall population, the former was really really, a few, and the latter males were also not as much as few like the former, but still a few.
 
Therefore, most of the population are still normies, and most normie females were still born with 'little' bit amount of mana, so they could train hard and borrowed the help of magical items to use a limited magic for their daily life.
Some talented males whom were also given the use of mana could train their entire life to perform magic, but the effect was so little that it almost had no meaning.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Gender role in the Marian society
 
The gender role is very different when compared to the Earth.
 
They were mostly talented females who achieved high or took the big seat in the society.
 
But they were really really very few.
 
So in normal, males with high health and strong scholarstic passion could also help the society.
 
But it was only the few selected females or the females who trained through their life that performed all the serious magic, so the role of males were very limited.
 
Still, males could do many things, but males were only males.
 
Nevertheless, most normal females live together with the males.
 
Works that required a high power of physics, mining for example, were performed by strong witches and female who could exploit magical equipments, and some males who could help them with knowledges, and normal males helped simple labors and chores.
 
Even in the police, all the executives were females, and the field police were consisted of females with mana, and normal males who supported the females policeworkers.
 
The medical field was also no different.
 
The complex and serious things were done by the females, and normal males helped them.
 
 
 
 
Marian society
 
Every countries had different forms.
 
But mostly, they were empires or had a form that was a mixture of a kingdom and modern government.
 
After all, magic was almost upto given talent from the birth, which 'genes' were important.
 
So 'bloodline' meant a lot in the Marian society, and 100% democracy would not be made in Marian.
 
But it did not mean that they lived in a some kind of dark ages, they just lived what they should live.
 
 
 
 
 
Species in Marian society.
 
There are many species, but mostly human.
 
There are some kind of species what we Earthlings call it the 'furries' or 'monster girls'(monmusu) but they were really a few.
 
It was notable that the furry and monster-girls were mostly females.
 
The reason is still unde study, but we guess that the essenece of their species are naturally related with feminity, which means that non-human species were naturally high with magical talents.
(I already explained that magic is a feminine thing from the beginning, and if you ask why? the reason is because I want it and the readers want it too, which is inevitable.)
 
Some people might be disappointed to hear this, but really, most of the monster-girls are anthro style, and there are hardly any non-human species that are out of humane form.
 
The society was full of hatred and racial-discrimination at some time, but it is almost gone now after they tried hard to make a better society.
 
The non-human species were also humane by their spiritual essence, which makes them want to 'get-along, befriend, love, get peace' like any other human which made them voluntarily try to get along with other people and join the society.
 
So it is mostly the non-humans who first try to befriend the human-society and the human also welcomes them.
 
There are no more hates, but the discrimination stil exists by nature.
 
Because most of the non-human were born with not little(relatively compared to normmies) amount of magic, so they were naturally witches from the beginning and it meant a lot in the Marian society.
 
The non-humans were easily respected, easily hated, and easily became the target of jealousy.
 
So we cannot say that there is no discrimination in a pure sense.
 
 
 
The problem of Marian society
 
Because there is magic, the crime is very different by its form and scale.
 
The magic can perform many things, so the use is also limited by laws.
 
Also in morals, the Marians consider the magic as a sacred thing so they do not want to exploit for bad reasons.
 
So this is somewhat similar to what we call the 'noblesse oblige', the talented beings need to take care of others.
 
But moral and ethics have different meanings.
 
Ethics is a born tendency that we were born with, as we were.
 
Love, sacrifice, mercy, compassion, want to love my family, want to love my close people, want to fight for my beloved, are not morals that others teach.
 
Those are traits that we were born with, by genetics and evolution history, to survie, which we called the ethics.
 
But the morals are rules that we 'artifically' created to make a better society.
 
For example, incest is bad by ethics, murder is bad by ethics, and rape is also bad by ethics.
 
It is not because the society decided it, but we were born to hate those.
 
But what if one male and his sister are isolated in an island forever?
 
Incest is allowed by their moral, though they still might make choose to die with no children following their ethics.
 
Also in war, you are not a murderer because you killed half of your enemy, because the moral allows it.
 
So the moral is always upto the environment and the species.
 
We cannot say that there are no people who would bypass the society's rules and morals for their personal desires.
 
And because the magic is an irrational thing from the beginning, it cannot be perfectly restricted by the society and laws.
 
Also, because not every entities were born with social personality, there always follows 'opposition' when the restriction by society gets stronger.
 
Therefore, magical crimes can happen anywhere and it actually happens daily, and there are always criminals who voluntarily decided to perform crimes.
 
Therefore, there is no such a country in Marian where your safety is guaranteed, and no one distinguish whether one is a magical being or a normie, or whether one is a respected-witch or a potential(or ongoing) criminal.

The below are also not 'hidden secret', but the truth which the Marians do not want to expose in public, or rumors about those truth.

The secret of magic
 
The magic is consisted by three indicators; knowledge, emotions, and mana.
 
The emotions and mana is a feminine thing, or a female thing.
 
Many talented females first realize their talents when they hit their puberty.
 
Their growth of magic is the most notable when they start their puberty.
 
Their magic repeats contraction and growth during their whole life, but starts to fade away when they are about to start menopause, and they cannot perform magic anymore when they are old.
 
There was a male scholar who realized that this phenomenon is very simlar to woman's menstruation, and decided to announce his theories accordding to this idea.
 
But when he told the public that he is going to announce his new discovery, he was gone missing and the media and the government only ended his case as 'gone missing'.
 
If you are not used to the Marian society, use must know this.
 
It is really your own choice to think and study what you want, but you have to 'be careful' when you 'interact' with others and you need to care the 'moods'.
 
Because the mood and feelings are basically feminine thing which were developed by female culture, and not respecting these equals 'harming their moods', or 'opposing to females'.
 
 
 
 
The devourers
 
One's magic can never be detached from their bodily traits.
 
Because the source of their mana is from their body.
 
And because the magical emotions of female are special by its own, her mind is very affected by their bodily and magical conditions.
 
Also, the feminity is maternal in some part.
 
Maternity in normal state is about caring, loving, and compassionating.
 
But when distorted, the negative maternity is about enhaling, controlling, devouring, and obsessional domination.
 
By natural, it is said that females who possess distorted magic tries to enhale and devour whole the person whom became the target of their maternal instinct.
 
This is a truth that the Marian society never wants to admit and analyze in depth.
 
So they not publicly try to think about this, but tries to avoid this truth, and only says that this is a rumor.
 
Also, the 'body of magical females' seem to work 'differently'.
 
For example, their internal structure is somewhat different, or their body works differently.
 
Some consider that this is why the non-human are different to humans at the same time born with high magical powers.
