When Yao got hold of the hammerspace implant, she installed one in Cora and a different version in Laelyn. Both are beta versions and each operates a bit different.
Caitlyn Scott is a trusted accomplice of Cora. She operates in "gray" areas, organizing things that the government banned (like creating semi-autonomous robots). A risky endeavor.
When Caitlyn got wind of the implant technology, she persuaded Yao to build a third version for her. She wanted to have her "factories" close, inside her, everything directly controlled via a short-range neural implant.
Hiding your business in plain sight is best and she also could relocate her business super easily, when she was discovered. Just walk over the street and let them search the wrong building.
So, Yao got the taur her very own hammerspace implant, adjusted for her "taur" anatomy, which allowed for certain feats that a human-shaped wearer wouldn't have.
Caitlyn's inner world is a sphere about 60 meters in diameter, a bit squished. She carries a few independent factory modules inside. They are open frames, not buildings. Their only protection is forcefields and they float around freely, bumping into each other's fields and also her own flesh.
She uses her factories to build all kinds of grey or even black market stuff. Everything that she can get "out" again.
She creates her own robots. Her Kontrolled are mechanoids, humanoid bots without detailed features. Very sophisticated programming and processing power but no real AI. She controls them via her neuro interface. She can update their programs, give them tasks, watch through their eyes.
All the bots and mechanoids she builds have several kill-switches (in soft- and hardware) that only she knows about. So they can't be used against her... But other than that, she doesn't care what they are used for.
While she's just a head taller than an average human, she often weights more than 20 tons or above, as she loves to dial-down the antigravity effect of the hammerspace field so she can really feel her weight and have her belly drag her down. She even got reinforced bones for that. If she doesn't want to move, there are very few ways to make her.



This time, bad timing has her struggling to fulfill all her contracts.... While her factories are state-of-the-art technology and constantly updated, they still create waste heat. Usually, that's not an issue and she doesn't need any external connection (keeping her fully mobile and self-reliant), but this time, she's overheating.
