Rika may have mellowed out over the years, but she still had some anger issues which she took out on poor Renamon. She would verbally berate her, make her pose in humiliating positions and spank her with a paddle.

When Rika took her food away, Renamon had had enough! Rika was an adult now and it was time she learned some respect. If Rika was going to take Renamon's food away, then perhaps she'd have to find something else to eat...
