"Mic check. Volume good chat?"

I cradle the ceramic mug in my lap, taking a long sip from the iced coffee Kat made for me. It... isn't very good. But it's been around 15 hours since the last time I had a drink, so I was thankful she'd at least given me that much considering the hell I'd gone through.

"Okay, I think we're golden. You ready?"

She peers down at me sitting behind the table mic. I feel like a field mouse being noticed by a hawk under her freaky red eyes. I remember Jessica telling me about how people that dabble too much in magic get eyes like that, demon eyes. I nod at the giant girl, all too aware of what she could do to me if I didn't do what she wanted. What she'd already done to me.

"Great. Remember to lean into the mic. At that height your voice won't carry too far."

A switch seems to flip in Kat as she launches into a more energetic personality, going into the intro to the "Kat-Cast" as she's calling it. Creative.

"Welcome back to the outside, Christine! And welcome to the Kat-Cast. Have fun on your little adventure?"

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to look at the camera or if I'm supposed to look at Kat. I don't really know anything about being on a podcast. My eyes still adjusting to outside light is making it all the more difficult.

I swallow hard. The power she currently holds may be terrifying, but she was still very clear that she wanted me to speak my mind here without the fear of repercussion.

Taking one final breath to prepare, I take up the role of special guest star on the Kat-Cast.
