Returning to base, Nagato faces a bigger problem than punishment
Her friends and seiren are mixed, so only her co-workers can't get it out safely.
If nagato do it wrong, seiren can come out and attack from inside the base, so commander have to partially digest it to neutralize everyone and then take it out.
Nagato doesn't want to make her friends suffer, but she has no choice but to start digesting.

at least nagato has the wonderful (and proper) proportions of a true battleship now.

I wonder if she'd eat more girls, digesting a few and keeping others safe inside, including the commander so he forgives her in return for making the girls inside her pregnant (of course, making her "pregnant" too in return)
