Garnet was in the zone, blocking the shelf for Terry Brooks as she read, her tail slowly swishing as if she was on the prowl. She visited here often, her attention span too sporadic to actually go through with checking the books out so instead just read standing up, too engrossed to even take the books over to the reading area.
The Library was expansive, taking advantage of the shrunken size to make elaborate shapes and pillars that would make a beautiful pattern for the outside looker. Depending on which entrance you went in, you could wander for hours in the section and never walk the same path or see the same author. Nobody knew why you could find your way through the maze of a library or why there were books that were even 100 years out of print, but it was just one of the many curious questions targeted to this place.
Garnet’s phone buzzed, its silent mode sounding like a broken fan in the silence. She scrambled for it, looking around to see if the sound drew any attention as she put the book back on the shelf. There was only one rule that was to be followed while in the library, whispered into the ears of every one who walked in the halls.
“Quiet in the library…” The voice was quiet, but clear, whispering into Garnet’s ear like they were right there beside her. Garnet shivered, her mood fouling up thanks to the voice. She turned and walked away, deciding that she had enough with her casual reading and needed to go find what she came here for.
Garnet stepped out of the library for a moment, feeling the magic work to enlarge her back to her normal frame. Garnet spent some time patting her fur down, trying to calm her nerves as she took some steadying breaths. Garnet was a neko, her hands padded with paws and fur coating forearms with the same mimicked on her legs. She did not have human ears, which showed that she was a pure-blood neko, and had little visible skin since she had black patches of fur between her breasts, on her shoulders, back, and a number of other places.
Garnet brushed her tail, almost holding it like a safety blanket, and went over her list again. She needed to find research papers pertaining to the development and control of Anti-Matter, most specifically the papers written and published by one Antonio Bundarea. That was the main thing she needed to get, she could do the rest of the tomorrow she decided, pinching her tail and turning back to the mysterious entrance to the Library.
She stepped in, feeling the magic shrink her back to a size that could manage the library. Garnet walked in the new section, taking care that she stepped quietly despite the heavy carpet. The voice was finicky on bad days and nobody knew what it was like on a good day.
Garnet found a large minotaur boy reading carefully through a book, him nodding at Garnet as acknowledgement. Garnet returned it, tracing the shelves in order to find the name Bundarea. However, she froze as there was a loud thump and curse beside her, the shelf she was working on shaking. Slowly, Garnet looked back towards the Minotaur, seeing that he had dropped his book and in the process of trying to catch it, had caught his horns on the wooden shelf.
Both people stared at each other, waiting with baited breath for something to happen. The air was still, the silence deafening as something wafted up behind the Minotaur, completely invisible in all but a 6th sense. The Minotaur stared into Garnet’s eyes, pleading out of desperation and fear, knowing that he had brought this on himself and yet wishing for her to save him.
Garnet could only stare, shaking her head as tears welled up in her eyes. She could only watch and hope that she wasn’t next.
The Minotaur suddenly lurched, an unseen force lifting him like a limp doll. Before he had a chance to scream, his head vanished, a slurping noise accompanying the rest of the body as he was pulled into the void. His legs flailed, sometimes coming near to the shelves flanking the walkway, before his hooves were tucked away and vanishing completely.
There was silence and Garnet waited a few more beats before letting out her breath, trying to slow down her heart. As she did so, she felt the voice appear again, right beside her ear.
“Quiet in the -urp- library…”

I wonder what it like from a prev POV, does the library make books out of the info of it victim. Does the Library ever do endo as well as digestion.

Honestly? There is so much potential that could happen if the Library was given sentience to choose what to do with those who break the rules. Maybe it would trap them in Endo or something else like that.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll keep it in mind when I revisit this story in the future!
