"When multi-billionaire Andrew Armstrong decides to try convincing a group of struggling aquarium owners to incorporate his latest catch into their exhibits, he finds he's bitten off more than even he can chew. Can they keep this mythical Siren contained, or are they actually contained by the creature herself?"

So this has been quite the undertaking for myself. There I was in between chapters of my current series when I spot a delightful image. As it turned out, this was a commissioned piece someone made using Valkyrie, a hero class in the game For Honor. Now I definitely don't frequent that game the way I used to, but the image made me nostalgic, and Valkyrie is bae. Good job, I told them.
Afterwards I kind of got into the For Honor mood, or "Vore Honor" as it was in this case. I asked theprophetcat if I could create a story based off that image. I received a reply informing me the character in question was based off an OC that they commissioned. Stranger danger, they said, and I was denied my request.
However, theprophetcat extended their hand from across the internet and touched my shoulder. "But hey," they told me. "I like you. I like your moxie. And also, Hollow Knight is my favorite game of all time (totally a thing they said). So I'll tell you what, I'll let you pick from any of my OCs, and let you write your story on it so long as you give due credit." I smiled and shook their hand from across the internet, grateful for the offer.
Now at the time, I was still working on the latest chapter of Jessie's Cravings. But I decided to go through theprophetcat's OCs. There I found many charming selections. Sleepover turned into Vore party, genie granting vorny wishes, etc etc. One image caught my eye which was Siren Oceanus. An attractive specimen, I thought. And something about the setting got my oils pumping. Once the ideas were connecting with one another, Jessie's Cravings had to be taken on break.
And here we are. Now I swear I didn't originally intend for the story to reach past over 14000 words. That number might well be my personal longest for a single bit of literature, not counting several chapters or series. It gave me the chance to experiment with how I introduce characters, histories, light world building, and etc. I'm quite happy with how it turned out and am glad I was given the opportunity to give it a shot.
If either the thumbnail or the story itself got you all hot and bothered and such, go check out the original creator.
https://aryion.com/g4/user/theprophetcat is an artist who does art. From what I can gather, they specialize mostly in what people would call "vanilla tastes" when it comes to vore. But they more than make up for it with the craft that they've honed. And hey, if you really like them, they have a Patreon you can go to as well.
https://www.patreon.com/theprophetcat Click here and the cat just might show you a good time. A penny for your troubles. Also if you click on any of these links, you'll show me that I do actually know how to properly link other people's channels in the description.
Thank y'all for your time and as always, hope y'all enjoyed!

Do sirens ever spare prey?
Posted by RogueKnight 2 years ago Report
I dunno. If this is a real question, I'd say depends on the context, including siren lore and the individual writing the scenario.

I was asking about this continuity.
I also wonder if the rich ceo plan had any chance of working.

If you're asking why the researchers assume that releasing Oceanus would have the sirens disperse, its basically a desperate theory. As for why the sirens would, they came to surround the island after finding out one of their own had been captured there. They basically start their chorus outside and have the staff that hear them for lunch. By the time Oceanus is released, they got what they came for and most if not all of them was able to leave with a meal so it was a successful rescue/hunt for them. That's how I intended it to be interpreted anyway.
And as for Armstrong's plan, its a hit and miss sort of thing. Discovering something as mystical as a siren in the modern setting would drastically change our understanding of modern marine biology and make us rethink the ecosystems. His plans to display one such creature in an aquarium as an attraction doesn't sound too far fetched, however there would likely be more demand to send the beast to more extensive research. Ignoring all of that, controlling the siren's behavior (in this universe anyway) in a tourist friendly manner would be a difficult task considering her level of intelligence as well as instinctive craving for human flesh. Could it be possible? That's a question for another story to explore, perhaps a different writer.
Anyway hope that was informative. Sorry if it was a bloated response or that I misinterpreted your original question.

Good job building a world and giving Bond villain vibes to your main character in this one. Good to set the stakes early on in the story. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! To be honest, Bond villain is a fair comparison now that I think about it. But when I was writing him, I was getting more of an Alex Jones vibe, especially during his rant about how we eat animals lol
