i might be weird but i liked the older anime a bit over the ova, mostly for the soundtrack and animation.

While I prefer Hellsing: Ultimate more, the older anime adaptation is still worth watching. Much like the Fullmetal Alchemist anime. I liked Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood a lot more though, but that first adaptation was a good introduction to the series.
