So Sonic Prime is a terrible show for baby toddlers that belongs on Nick Jr and would air in a time slot inbetween Dora the Explorer and Paw Patrol. Very bad no good show.
BUT there is an episode where they go to a caveman AU world and in it Tails is a practically feral wild boy who is very bitey and I am in love with him, he is mine now he belongs to me here is a story about him eating everyone all the time.

How bad is it? I'm avoiding it because I saw Rouge in the main cast and Shadow wasn't with her, which tells me it's gone the IDW route of butchering his character. But how bad is Prime really? I'm dying to know.

it's not that bad, the only different character is Sonic who acts like the movie version and ends up doing something bad, which is why Shadow fights him, he doesn't act like Edge the hedge From Sonic boom and not like the "I don't need friends" from IDW, there's not much to say about him since he almost doesn't appear in the episodes, The reason Rouge is in the main cast is because she was the one who discovered the crystal that makes you go to other universes, and then Eggman wants the crystal, and she goes along with the gang to defeat him and etc.
There are still more episodes to come out but for now it's a solid 6/10

Honestly it's not as bad as what random is saying it is. I've watched the entire season, and I can honestly say it's a pretty good show. I think it might be best if you watched the show yourself before formulating an opinion.

I really enjoy it. I actually like the Tails variants the best, especially Nine and, yes, Mangey
