So in my last story's description I mentioned that it could very well be my last story of the year... And then about an hour after I uploaded it I decided to just say screw the upload schedule I had planned for the Dragalia Lost Marathon and upload the two stories I had finished ahead of their intended upload order for the sake of not sitting on finished stories into the new year. So not only is this story dropping before year's end, but another will also be dropping one week from now as my actual last story of the year!

Renelle was actually not originally intended for the marathon when it was first being conceptualized. At first, around the time the Annelie story dropped, only six characters were guaranteed stories, but as soon as I noticed that the six I'd first chosen covered every playable element in the game except for fire, I pretty quickly went to work deciding on which fire element character should be added. While the likes of Mym and Emma were considered for the spot, Renelle's always been one of the more memorable fire characters to me personally, and was the first one I had an idea for that I was a really big fan of. I'd also say she's a prime example of Dragalia Lost having had some super solid characters in the lower rarities, considering she was in the most common of them. Only one other character of that base three star rarity made their way into the marathon, and I'd say they both more than earned their placements with how much I enjoyed the both of them when the game was still alive!

This second three star character has not been seen yet, with the four stories prior to this one having all been five stars, and also a random nameless NPC. You won't have to wait long for them though, seeing as they'll be officially dropping one week from now, on December 27th. It feels weird being so close to the year's end, and arguably weirder being so close to the marathon's end. Three stories in total left to upload, two left to write.
