As her country’s spymaster, Chelle was quite used to weighing the veracity and usefulness of information. But this particular rumour still hung in her mind. Reports that a certain serpent in the Alberian wood possessed strange powers, seemingly able to confuse and mesmerise its prey. It sounded quite absurd... absurd, and useful. Plus she couldn't help but think that a slender serpent would compliment her image, and arsenal of interrogation, well.


Seemingly her network of ‘kittens’ had undersold the specimen. With dazzling amber eyes and shining emerald green scales he was the perfect counterpart to her rose dresses. Soon the two were never apart - the princess would wear him like a sash and readily employ his powers to tease some extra gossip out of her associates.
He even began to help her in her espionage duties, offering a second opinion and various insights for her plots as she planned them.

In fact he was so helpful that after a while he even suggested that he should take over from now on.
Yes, that sounded good to the princess. She’d do everything he’d say and everything would turn out right just like all the plans he had a hand in. He suggested they start with a more intimate ‘discussion’ tonight which Chelle agreed to eagerly.
After all, he clearly had her best interests at heart so why not trust in him?
