1) Draw the whole prey on a seperate layer then draw the pred, then adjust the prey to fit in the pred or the pred to engulf the prey. Take the whole prey into account so the viewer will believe that there is a whole prey in there.
2) a. Jaws open back not down
b. The upper jaw always drags the lower jaw.
c. Prey has no business in the pred's brain case.
Which leads into...
3) Take into account the pred's skeletal structure and internal organs. Both take up real estate in the pred's body and some cannot survive being squished. Others, like the spine, cannot be squished. And despite the fact that I ignored this in several of these doodles; collarbones exist and severely limit the ability of a humanoid to swallow large objects.
4) Take into account the prey's skeletal structure. Bones can't bend much and joints have limitations on how much they can bend.
5) Try not to let the throat expand all the way to the chin. This makes the pred look goofy.
6) Direction is important. You should be able to tell which way the prey is going by how their hair and limbs are positioned. Also how their boobs are positioned.
And I shall add a rule #7)
You can ignore any of these rules if you can make it hot. If you can make a pred look sexy with her chin melded to her throat then go right ahead with it.

These actually are super useful. I always found drawing vore to be kinda tricky

Super tricky. I fiddle with it for hours sometimes and it still comes out different than I wanted.

I can relate to that. I feel like drawing the belly after a meal is simple but drawing "swollowing" is trickier

Yeah, there's only like three 'stopping points' where the pred doesn't look goofy and clavicles are the most annoying bone ever.

Good suggestions.
