Once a small girl who’s entire family was devoured as punishment by the ravenous princess Betya, Marika fled into the wastes and the plains, living like an animal for several days.
There she was found by her mother’s ancestral people, the raiders who rode the grasslands. Intrigued by the little princess she was taken in and adopted by the chief of the tribe.

In the years that passed, Marika became a feared raider of her own, even going so far as to discover her own ability to devour people whole. This remained as a hidden ability until one fateful day where she came across a man so handsome he could be called beautiful.

Marika, who had little time for men, was wooded and bedded by him. But no sooner had they spent a night, he vanished. Some time after she realised she had become pregnant by him, and the hunger started. The urge to consume more… to fill her gut with squirming prey.
It took a visit to a shaman to discover the true meaning to what grew in her womb. The man she had bedded was of witch-stock. Blood of the Baya Yaga of old, and a witch-child now resides in her belly. One that needed nourishment, that had a great hunger and needed it’s mother to feed.
