You almost, got your funds set aside to pay that accursed fae, the debt you owed. Before that brand defaults, to making your existence fade away into a ghost.
But then... You don't know how often it's happened. But your girlfriend. Took the money you had in a safe, away. To say you were livid that your very existence was at risk out of her selfish greed, was moot. Compared to how you were one day away, from being consumed by that fae magic burning at your neck. Even as your heart wept, over having to make a betrayal to her existence...

As for the souls etched on Fiachan's bosom? One could imagine they're all the forgotten prey, offered to fuel her loan fairy service, or existence.
Knowing myself. The next time I commission them. It'd either be for a different OC of mine, or even their bunny girl OC, for a change. ;)

Ok I need to question how exactly is this whole deal between them fair if the debter can use the lives of other people against their will to pay could he not simply kidnap people to continue paying it off

It only works for those the debtor has a personal bond with. Be it friendship, family or beloved.
Stranger's don't apply to her "reprisal" deal (or 'bargain'). It's like the Behelit from Berserk, in scale/lens of value. But personal...
