A deep re-evaluation of one's place in the universe. A feeling of being awestruck. A growing twinge of nervousness and unease... all sensations one would experience when the living soul of a Galaxy coils itself around oneself with hunger gleaming in it's unfathomable eyes.
Terror gives way to understanding, as lines are more clearly defined, and the scale of the food chain increases, no longer comparing oneself to the creatures of the planet called 'Home', but to every entity littering the cosmos... a new knowledge that an individual who deemed themselves on top of the predatory pyramid actually exists near the very bottom when put on a galactic scale.
Eyes gazing into star-speckled teeth glimmering as an endlessly deep maw beckons one to give themselves in to beautiful infinity.
Infinity staring straight back, beholding one's comparatively miniscule form. A conflicting feeling of pride at being appraised by everything, but anxiety as one wonders what everything truly thinks of them.
Another re-evaulation. Reality as one knows it bends to the whims of it's master, things as one understands are no longer as they seem when in the presence of a living, breathing macrocosm...
...a moment that should have been remembered instead replaced with the result, from kneeling at the top of a small world, to diving down the unimaginably deep gullet of a cosmic entity.
Was there even a bite, or a swallow, or simply a fall? Perhaps their own atoms carried their body into the jaws of destiny?
One final re-evaluation, realizing the value one's very constituent atoms have. This creature in it's glorious glowing existence, is made up of the same atoms as all other living beings.
This is not death as one expects when the galaxy itself devours it's prey, but something else. Shedding one's lesser body in favor of joining something greater, new existence growing as one simple scale amidst a sea collected since the beginning of time itself.
This is not death as expected, but evolution, returning to one's progenitor, and being welcomed home to the galactic body all planets were birthed from.
Slipping deeper, feeling as if hours, days, even years... perhaps eons have passed since first entering the star-lit ancestor's innards. As if time even matters anymore when one is dealing with a being as ancient and incomprehensible as this.
Was this creature the one who created the stars... or were they simply older than them?
How many stars have they seen born... how many have died under this being's omniscient gaze?
One might wonder if they've already been digested, their speck of a body already processed with their conscience trapped in blissful starry-eyed sleep... yet other feelings considered the contrary, having never felt more alive than at any point in one's life than this one. This was where they were meant to be, in this moment right here, right now...
...to be shown the bigger picture, no, the BIGGEST picture.
A view of the universe as a whole, every corner of reality on display in all of it's sparkling, potential-filled beauty, stars, worlds, and swirling nebulas stretching from horizon to horizon... all viewed by a newly awakened mind.
