Why didn't they hire more protection if they were going through reaches host to a known macromancer?
They did.
This is a piece of a larger setting I'm toying with, but it works fine as a standalone piece; you don't need any background context really. 'Big naked lady eats people' isn't exactly a novel concept around these parts, after all.
Been playing Pentiment lately (great game, it's by the Fallout: New Vegas team, it's like if Disco Elysium was about debating Catholic theology and the merits of printing presses, I recommend it) and it made me want to draw some 16th-century clothes.

Any details on the setting?

Basically, in this world the art of macromancy is strictly forbidden and massively suppressed because its practitioners grow addicted to the taste of human and find it gradually harder and harder to return to their original size, gradually forgetting their old life in favour of being a man-eating giant. There’s more to it than that but that’s the gist of it.
I’m in two minds as to whether it’s set in a fantasy world or just our own world that split off in its own direction at some point; I sort of like the idea of it intersecting with real 16th century history.

Interesting origin for giants, any other images in this setting yet?

None yet, besides a few preliminary sketches and a fragment or two of writing.
Soon, though!
