Summoner’s gambit: Mirabilis’ Midnight Meal
Shiko sighs, not knowing how to handle an inheritance session with Mirabilis.
She just seemed too cute and innocent to ever eat someone. He knew exactly what skills he wanted to give her and yet he couldn’t bring himself to ask Mirabilis to eat another summon and digest them.
Such cruelty is far too unifitting of her childlike personality, and Shiko is too afraid of scarring the Ljósálfar.
After rationalizing to himself that such behavior is not only acceptable but expected of summoners, Shiko resolves to at least propose the idea to Mirabilis.
The summoner heads to the Inn in the summoner’s castle, and finds Mirabilis sleeping in one of the beds.
The black haired summoner sits in a nearby chair to wait patiently until Mirabilis awakens from her nap.
Though the sleepy Ljósálfar’s magic began to envelop him, pulling him into a dreamy state, falling into a slumber of his own.
After a short time Mirabilis awakens, seeing Shiko asleep in the chair with his black hair a little ruffled by his position brings a smile to the pink haired fairy’s face.
She looks into his dreams and sees herself with many new skills being commanded by Shiko against Ruka’s team. The Flower of Ease shines in her hands as she swings down to slash at Yunaka, easily falling the ex-assassin from her horse.
A flash of light interrupts Mirabilis’ short lived celebration, a burst of magic sending the fairy flying without any way to counter. Immediately following the unforeseen attack, swordmaiden Fir strikes Mirabilis before the dream fairy retaliates with a strike of her own.
With such poor speed Fir strikes again sending Mirabilis to the ground.
As if she was the only unit on the team Ruka was declared the immediate winner.
Shiko tries to offer orbs, feathers, and even other summons to save Mirabilis but Ruka doesn’t care about any of his offers. She orders Fir to consume Mirabilis with no less cruelty in her demeanor than when she deceived and consumed Shiko in their first fight.
Shiko was shifting uncomfortably in his sleep. A slight frown covered Mirabilis’ face seeing her summoner’s stress and anxiety was giving him a bad dream. Though the Ljósálfar would never interrupt a dream under normal circumstances she felt she should make an exception.
She poked Shiko gently and said a soft “Shiko?” as he tossed and turned.
Shiko shifts awake, seeming to shake off the discomfort of his dreams before he says“Hi Mirabilis… sorry I was waiting to speak to you and dozed off”
Mirabilis smiles and says “That’s okay, you should be able to enjoy a dream every now and then. Don’t worry too much about the high stakes arena…” she says with a soft smile.
Shiko smiles back a little before saying “I’m just… I don’t want to lose you in some silly wager.” Shiko did not yet know how he could keep his units if he lost, though there was a simple answer to such a question… when it came to matters of gambling.
Mirabilis smiles a little and says “I guess I must be–.” The dreamy girl let out an adorable yawn before continuing. “--Important to you.”
Shiko blushes and says “You are.”
Mirabilis blushes a little and says “Thank you Shiko. I want to help you too… I know it’s scary and you don’t want to lose me but I want to become stronger for you.” Mirabilis’ wings flutter once as she scoots over in the bed to face Shiko’s chair. She moves closer to it but she does not abandon her pillow just yet.
She leans over with an adorable smile finally lifting her head off the pillow and says excitedly “So let’s make this a team effort! Okay…!?” She begins to scoot closer and closer to him before exiting the bed quickly and hugging him in the chair he’s sitting in. She nestles against his cloak to keep warm, and shuts her eyes with a soft smile.
Shiko says quietly “Mirabilis…”
Mirabilis turns her attention to him and says “Yeah?” in a sleepy voice
Shiko asks slowly “Would you… find it scary… killing someone?”
Mirabilis tilts her head against the pillow, somewhat confused at the question but knowing he’s intending to feed her heroes in inheritance. “Mm… I don’t find it too scary when you’re with me Shiko… but do I have to eat them?”
Shiko’s eyes widen as he realizes Mirabilis knows already. He should have assumed she knew long ago but without even thinking about everything Mirabilis has witnessed he asks “How did you…?” He trails off as he realizes just how much Mirabilis should know about heroes eating heroes in this world.
Mirabilis giggles a little and says “I saw it in your dream… I’m guessing that’s what happened to Tharja after I fell unconscious at our last fight. But it’s okay… I know you’ll save her.” She smiles softly then presses against Shiko once more.
Shiko blushes and says “You must really have a lot of faith in me…”. It seems not only does Mirabilis believe in his ability to beat Roka but also to save Tharja rather than let one of his units absorb one of Roka’s unit’s. If he wasn’t so empathetic that may be exactly what he would do.
“You can see dreams…?” Shiko asked curiously.
Mirabilis giggles and replies “How else would Ljósálfar deliver dreams…? We have to see dreams”
Shiko smiles at how obvious that seems now. “Right… so you saw my dream about you…?”
Mirabilis smiles and opens her eyes as she begins to speak. “Oh, well you must really like me… if you dream about me like that~'' before hugging Shiko tightly. She appreciates how positively the summoner views her, and how much Shiko wanted to protect her, knowing he’d offer everything he had to ensure she wasn’t eaten in an arena duel..
Shiko blushes and hugs her back a little. He thinks about wanting to build Mirabilis up and make her stronger before asking “You won’t feel guilty if you eat a hero will you?”
“I might feel a little sad afterwards… but I can handle it! As long as it’s for your sake…” Mirabilis confesses with a soft smile. She’s trying her hardest to be strong, looking up at Shiko with a big smile.
Reassured by her words, Shiko smiles and hugs her tightly.
“Ah- your cloak is too soft Shiko…” Mirabilis says before yawning. Immediately after the yawn she shuts her eyes and lays against him.
Shiko flusters as the adorable pink haired fairy snuggles against him. The summoner is taken aback by how easily she fell asleep just by touching his cloak.
Not wishing to disturb her, Shiko holds her in place and slowly turns around, squatting before lifting the dream fairy on his back and carrying her to a chamber for inheritance.
Shiko lays Mirabilis on a stone bench. He makes sure not to let go until he is sitting next to her.
The sleepy fairy snores quietly and lays her head on Shiko’s shoulder, before gripping and hugging his coat like one might a blanket.
After twenty minutes Mirabilis slowly awoke again. With a dreamy expression she asks “Where are we?”
Shiko explains “You’re going to inherit skills here.”
The room itself was a simple small room with not much more than open space, two doorways on both ends, and a small stone bench in front of a window. The doorways had roughly 34 feet or just over 10 meters of space between them, this accompanied with the space adjacent to the doorways created one of the largest rooms in Shiko’s tiny summoner castle.
“I can inherit other heroe’s powers here… if I eat them right?” Mirabilis asks softly
“Y- yeah… I just need to know that… you won’t be scarred if you eat another hero” Shiko replies slowly.
Mirabilis says reassuringly “I’ll be fine Shiko… really I can do it! If it will help you I really think I should do it… I wanna help you”.
Shiko smiles and feels far more confident now. He responds “Okay… I trust you, and I have faith in you.” causing Mirabilis to smile and blush a little at his words.
Shiko reaches for the Breidablik and without hesitation summons Petrine first.
The half Beorc General stands and turns to look about the room, not yet realizing her summoner's intention. Upon realizing she’s not standing in the arena she turns to face Mirabilis and Shiko. She yells “Summoner! What is the meaning of this? Why have you brought me to this chamber?” her anger masking a subtle bit of fear.
Shiko’s eyes widen and Petrine’s intimidating cold stare. The summoner replies nervously “You are to be inherited for your C skill Threaten Attack and–”
“I won’t be inherited for anything!” Petrine yells.
“Mirabilis” Shiko says, prompting the sleepy Ljósálfar to make a soft noise of surprise before fluttering into the air for combat.
The half Beorc general brandishes her flame spear prompting Shiko to reach for his Breidablik suppressor in response to her threat. Petrine is too fast however, and with a bit of magic from her flame spear she ignites Shiko’s hand, causing him to drop the Breidablik suppressor to the ground.
He feels helpless hearing the device clatter, as he shoves his hand into his cloak to suffocate the flames.
Capitalizing on the distraction Petrine begins galloping towards the summoner, fully intending to skewer him with her flame lance.
Shiko braces for a painful end, only for MIrabilis to dive at Petrine’s side and strike the green haired knight with her red sword, the “Flower of Ease”.
Petrine falls off her horse after the painful strike. She races to get up, but Mirabilis doesn’t afford her the chance. Mirabilis lands directly behind Petrine, opening up her mouth as wide as she can. As Petrine pushes herself up to stand she unintentionally shoves her head in Mirabilis’ mouth.
Petrine tries to pull away but Mirabilis grabs Petrine and pushes herself down to swallow the green haired general further.
After a few seconds Mirabilis’ belly begins to expand as Petrine is forced into the hot and wet environment. The experience is oddly enjoyable to the sleepy Ljósálfar. Just the taste and the excitement of taking Petrine into her maw seems to make Mirabilis happy as she makes a muffled sound of enjoyment.
Shiko sighs covering his left hand which he was able to extinguish, even if it is a bit burnt. He looks to see Petrine futilely kicking her legs as Mirabilis slurps them down.
Petrine kicks and squirms as hard as she can before Mirabilis gets to her ankles. Shiko blushes slightly as he watches Petrine’s feet try to angle outward the best they can to stop Mirabilis from swallowing her completely, only for Mirabilis to open her mouth a little bit to take in Petrine’s feet before closing her mouth sealing Petrine’s fate beyond her lips and inside her stomach.
A relieved sigh escapes Mirabilis before she smiles up at Shiko. She says “Mm, she tasted good… Ah! Did I do well?” her eyes widening with a bit of fear, as though she was afraid of the immorality of her enjoying eating Petrine.
“Yes… you did fine” Shiko says reassuringly, gently touching the top of her head with his right hand and brushing through her pink hair once.
She makes a soft noise of contentment when her summoner does that, and lets Petrine kick and squirm in her belly as she lays on it.
Mirabilis feels confident after hearing her summoner’s praise… and slowly shuts her eyes saying a soft “Thank you… Shiko” before drifting off to sleep on her very noisy and very active belly bed.
Inside the stomach Petrine squirms aggressively while the sleepy fairy’s belly slowly gets to work churning the half Beorc woman down and digesting her.
Mirabilis rests as Petrine is slowly digested. Shiko leaves to get disinfectant to apply to his burn.
Mirabilis begins to breathe evenly, falling into slumber as her belly jiggles from Petrine’s aggressive squirming and thrashing against the tight and soft walls of Mirabilis’ stomach.
Petrine’s fear spikes as her armor begins to corrode against the squishy walls of the fairy’s stomach, as though some magical properties allowed her to digest the general of Daen with ease. The stomach acid slowly rises around Petrine, as she pounds against the stomach walls, from demanding to be let out she turns to begging, as her consciousness slips away.
The last noise of the struggle aside from grumblings of a happy belly is a gassy burp Mirabilis lets out, loud enough for Shiko to hear in a completely different room.
A small sliver of magic left Mirabilis when she burped, before ascending skyward, squeezing through a window to do so.
When Shiko returns, the movement in Mirabilis’ belly has stopped. Petrine has lost consciousness and now Mirabilis can let her stomach do the rest of the work while she sleeps off her meal.

Shiko pulls up his summoner’s device and selects Mirabilis to inherit the skills leading up to Threat Atk/Def 2.
Shiko still had a plan on what her A and C skills would be given what his options were. As for her B skill he could either sacrifice a legendary Corrin for Guard 4, or he could sacrifice an attuned Peony for Rockslide dance 3. Still the A and C skill was set in stone.
Soon Shiko walks down the hall into another room. He withdraws his Breidablik and summons an Astra’s wielder: Ayra, whom he tried to build before. She had Lif’s Arcane Éljúðnir, Atk/Def clash 4, Desperation 3, and Atk/Def menace.
She was built for defense despite her stats focus on speed. Her Menace skill and clash skill was better used on a unit that focused defense, like Mirabilis. Mirabilis could have also used a ploy skill thanks to her high res, but Shiko didn’t have anyone he was willing to inherit to give her ploy.
He was hesitant in sacrificing Ayra. When Ayra first appeared from the Breidablik she looked around then clutched her sword expecting to be jumped at by a summon from Shiko’s barracks trying to eat her.
Though she relaxed seeing Shiko’s nervous and unconfident demeanor.
“Shiko… are we the only ones in this room?” she asked
“Yes… I assume you know why I summoned you… I’m sorry…” Shiko says softly in a heartfelt manner.

  Ayra’s eyes narrowed.
“Sorry… for throwing me aw–”
“I’m not throwing you away! I really do like you Ayra… I promise as soon as I can I’ll summon you again.”
Ayra looks at his face, seeing the sincerity in his words and his affinity for her.
“I guess you did try to make me stronger at one point… though you could have done better.” she says with a slight smile, having calmed down a little.
“I’ll do better next time!” Shiko says hopefully.
“You really think there’s going to be a–” she says but stops short before saying “It’s not like either of us know how this summoning thing works.”
Shiko blushes and admits “You’re right… but I’d like to think it’s you again if I summon you after.”
Ayra picks up on his regretful tone, as though he’s thinking about all the units he’s inherited so far, as if he’s feeling the pain of guilt from sacrificing each one of them.
Ayra says “Maybe… that is how it works. I can’t say for sure if it will be the same me… but I can tell you’re ashamed… and you must care about me to some extent.”
Shiko looked up in surprise after she told him that.
  “You–”
“Don’t pretend you’re not. If you weren’t ashamed you wouldn’t seem so lacking in confidence and so full of anxiety.”
  Shiko admitted “Yes… I’m ashamed.”
“Stop that” the warrior princess said firmly before clarifying “If you face Roka with your shame bringing you down you’ll lose again, and lose another unit.”
Shiko took a breath as he looked at her, as if taking in those words and trying to let them resonate so that he could erase his shame and overcome Roka next time he fought her.
“Don’t let your shame destroy you… but don’t let your values slip away either” she said firmly. She paused and said “You need to keep it together. At least until after you’ve beaten Roka.”

I've finished the Lora for Mirabilis, then I modified one of the pictures it produced as practice. Next up is Hel's story.
