Bad news. Posted 17 years ago
I guess this is a kind of goodbye.

From tomorrow, my weekdays will pretty must consist of this:

9am - Get up and got to work for six hours with a twenty minute lunch break.

3pm - Time for four hours of university classes.

7pm - Dinner then martial arts.

9pm - Revision of the material covered at university earlier that day.

12am - Yay! Free time! (Depending on how tired I am.)

Weekends are slightly less hectic.

A short time ago, I was informed of several small changes in the university course timetable. The time change didn't seem like a big deal until I discovered that the only shift at work which would accomodate these new times was two hours longer than my old one....

News update...UPDATED Posted 17 years ago
Just saw a story on the news about two guys who tried to rob a pub.

They would have got away with it except for one little thing...

...There was a gang of thirty bikers in the next room.

The reporter described them: "Like a stampede of cattle past the bar." and the report ended with the two would be robbers tackled through a glass window.

I found the stupidity of the thieves amusing.

And it's my birthday tomorrow! Yay for me!

WOOT!!! It's my birthday! I'm five and a quarter years old today!

CURSE THOSE LEAP YEARS!!

No. 21 today. Legally allowed to get drunk and have sex in all countries around the world.

I just got back from a martial arts class.

It was Hell.

The instructor pushed us to death. He'd tell us to run laps around the gym then without warning he'd tell us to do ab crunches and then, still without warning, he'd tell us to run again. Then push ups. Then more running. Then squats. More running. Back to push ups and straight on to leg raises. More running. Tossing a ten kilogram medicine ball back and forth. Then he'd tell us to spar with each other for a few minutes. Back to running.

You get the idea.

This went on for nearly two hours before the instructor got bored and dismissed the class, half of which had dropped out and were sitting on the side of the gym half dead.

My arms feel like lead. Every muscle...

Call of Duty 4 Posted 17 years ago
Finally got my hands on a copy of COD 4 for the PC today. Played it on the highest difficulty from the start and it is so very, very brutal.

It's had me hooked for a long time and after many persistent hours of play, most of it spent dying, I got to this one level that has proven to be highly infuriating...

<POTENTIAL SPOILERS>

As those of you who have played the game will know, the sniper mission flashback is bloody hard. From the point at which you assassinate that Russian guy whassisname then to the point where you get extracted, I must have died at least a hundred times. Seventy five of them while waiting for extraction and I stil haven't passed the damn level. It's got to the point...

The weather. Posted 17 years ago
I've noticed several blogs about ice and snow and winter and general crappy weather.

So I figured I'd break the trend.

As of writing this, it is 39 degrees celcius ouside. No humidity and a nice cool breeze. The water at most of the beaches near me is as flat and clear as glass with no annoying kids to...well..annoy you. Until school is out.

The countdown to my birthday has also begun with just two weeks to go!

So, everyone have fun getting frostbite over the next few weeks, I'm going to go and get myself a cold drink.
I don't get it. Posted 17 years ago
WARNING!! If you are American and love your sport you'll probably find this offensive. If you are one of those people, consider this a warning.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

{RANT WARNING.} (Enough warnings for you?)

As many of you may know, the American Ultra Ball, or something, just finished or started or whatever.

Now, apart from not understanding why you would want to watch a group of guys run up and down a field throwing a spherical, rubber object back and forth, I also don't understand why people make such a big deal about it.

It's all over the news....IN AUSTRALIA!!! It's the top story. Every news station is reporting on it. You can't change the channel without seeing "America" this and "American Football" that and...

Insomnia SUCKS!! Posted 17 years ago
I'd type something incredible witty and amusing here but I'm too tired to think of something.

It is currently 0335 hours and I am unable to fall asleep. Even though I haven't slept for more than an hour a night for the past two days.

I'm tired but I can't fall asleep. It's not like I have anything on my mind, not like I'm worrying about anything. Why the flying fu..amily friendly am I unable to fall asleep!?

My Kingdom for some sleeping pills.

None of my sleep inducing music seems to be working and the TV, incredibly boring though it is, does not make me want to drift into the beautiful realm of unconsiousness.

0350 hours. Maybe I'll go and beat myself over the head with a frying pan until I pass out due to...

...I'd forgotten how inept I am when wielding a pencil and paper.

As you have probably gathered, I am talking about my atrocious drawing skills. They really are terrible. I try and draw a person's face and I end up looking at a Picasso. A really, really bad Picasso.

This revelation occured to me when I was forced to barricade myself in my bedroom after I discovered my parents were having a "Get Well Soon" party for my sister. What's the problem with that, you ask? Don't you love your little sister? Yes I do but no amount of love is going to convince me to spend time in a room with my sister's emo girlfriends. They all think I'm the hottest thing since molten titanium. Which, let me assure you, is very, very hot. That's one thousand six hundred and sixty eight...

Well all of the degenerates have been caught and after a short hearing they were all sentenced with one year prison and a 5,000 dollar fine. Except one who got 18 months and a 7,500 dollar fine for resisting arrest. Idiot.

We couldn't get anymore painkillers for my sister as the ones she had were the strongest the doctor reccomended giving her. She's coping well enough without them if you ask me.

There was a local martial arts competition and I kicked ass coming second overall and even giving some of the instructors a run for...

They got one with more to follow! Posted 17 years ago
As some of you may know, my sister and I had an encounter with a group of teenagers whom God granted the gift of overwhelming stupididty.

Well, one of them has been taken into custody after he went to hospital to get the broken nose I gave him fixed. The hospital, having been informed of the appearance and situation of these individuals, alerted the police.

My family and myself were called in to the police station to identify him. When he was identified as one of the guilt party and shown the video of his actions to confirm it, he was informed of the charges against him:

"Grievous bodily harm against an underage female with intent to do so for matters of amusement only carrying a penalty of two years imprisonment and an 11,000 dollar fine" ...
